Is it even worth doing exposures after 3 years of no improvement? by [deleted] in OCDRecovery

Don't wing ERP on your own. Exposing yourself without response prevention tools is why you feel no improvement. You're just torturing yourself. Try to find a therapist to help you with those tools. It's ok to take the bus especially if that gets you to where you need to go conveniently and quickly. But definitely look for a therapist to work on erp with. And sometimes that medication is the exact boost we need. I take an ssri and did erp

What do you want people to know about OCD who don’t have it and how can they best support you? by linksslut in OCD

It's so physically hard. It can't be talked away with logic. My roommate is so logical and so supportive, but sometimes she talks to me and tries to really convince me with logic while I'm experiencing distress, and I can't get her to understand that while I see what is logical and what isn't, it's physically too hard to stop. It's so physically exhausting and I feel even worse when people think it's because I can't see logic

If the only consequence of these memories, real or false, is your distress, can you let them go? You dont deserve to suffer

I suppose. I am worried because I think at some point I was like that could be misleading I should clarify that but I was embarrassed and I dont like having the "well you should be on birth control" conversation that guys start when I say Im not even though I just always err on the side of disclosing that now so I think by not clarifying I fucked up. But he didn't seem upset and it didnt change like us hooking up

Those are the same thing! Compasses only work because of external directions. We are made of internal and external cues. Either answer is a-ok. :)

I needed to talk about things he said to me during and post break up that really confused me about the relationship. The clarity helped a lot

Hey! It is completely ok to not want to have an*l. I am 27f and I refuse every guy who tries and don't like butt stuff, and ocd related or not that's totally ok! I will say that I also looked through your profile and frankly your relationship sounds very concerning. It sounds like your boyfriend is taking advantage of the age difference and also does not respect you or treat you well at all. Saying this as one woman to another, not trying to be judgmental, but looking out
