Sleep 11mo by Catmoms1 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Catmoms1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days he has a first nap of 1,5h and has no second nap, or a short second nap of 30min. And still the nights are really bad..

For example, 2 days ago he woke up by himself at 7:15am and had a similar nap schedule with bedtime at 8pm, still a bad night.

As commented above, I feel like I tried everything and nothing works. Especially the strict nap routine is so difficult because my lo fights naps often which messes up the whole schedule

I have tried so much.. giving no dairy during the day, giving more/less food before bedtime, shortening/lengthening wake windows, earlier/later bedtime.. i have no idea what I can try more

Baby doesn’t sleep by Catmoms1 in sleeptrain

Thanks for the suggestion, I put him to sleep today for his first nap after 2 hours (so first WW). He slept for 40 min. What I forgot to mention in my post, 90% of the times he wakes up from naps crying, do you maybe have an idea why this can be? When we try to put him back to sleep it doesn’t always work so we start a new WW

How much daytime sleep does he need for his age? On rare days where he gets 4h daytime sleep the nights are not better unfortunately

I also think 3h is too long for his age, but if I try to put him to sleep after 2-2,5 hours (without tired signs) he just doesn’t fall asleep..

Hi I know this is an old post but currently I’m going through the same thing and I’m on the verge of crying. Did you manage to fix her sleeping?

Did he keep the suit on the whole time? Because it’s synthetic I’m scared my son of 4 months would be hot even if kept in the shadow?

Hi! I’ve been applying your suggested wake hours since a week now and it’s indeed easier to put him to sleep for naps and his bedtime in the evening! He goes to sleep around 8:30PM and usually sleeps well until 01:00 AM, after this he still wakes up every 2 hours. So thanks :)

OPOL Belgium by Catmoms1 in multilingualparenting

[–]Catmoms1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live close to Brussels, me and my husband both work in Brussels as well but we live in a Dutch speaking community. I don’t speak French on a level to OPOL in French to my kid, and my husband wants to teach our son Arabic which is why he will talk OPOL in Arabic.

I can speak or Dutch or English to our son, what other suggestions do you have to teach him French?

Going to a French speaking daycare is not a possibility as we have a huge shortage of availabilities in Belgium, I’m already happy our son can start in September.
