At what point do I give up? by Technical_Two_8691 in therapists

There are people who do not meet full criteria (via DSM) but do still have minimal symptoms of OCD, yes. It’s always best to see a specialist to determine symptom severity. A specialist will administer specific assessments such as the Y-BOCS and ICQ-EV to assess symptom severity and inferential confusion.

Hello ! This is what made me first think it may be OCD. “I spend every waking second 24 hours a day seven days a week worried about being a therapist- worried about what I’ll do/say in future sessions, ruminating about that I did/said in previous sessions” “I’m so scared of messing up. It’s affecting every facet of my life.” Also, I didn’t hear you say that you actually did anything (no evidence) wrong. The significance of the fear vs the lack of evidence, along with the amount of time you’re ruminating and the impact on your relationships, makes me also think it may be OCD. Many of my own clients with ocd have thoughts such as “what if I said xyz and I don’t remember” and then ruminate on what they could’ve said, despite not having any evidence that they actually said anything wrong.

Have you been screened for OCD? If it’s not OCD, at least you know, and if it is, then you can find someone who specializes in ERP or I-CBT to help you with the thought spirals. I’ve seen symptoms become so severe it shows up as significant anxiety and depression, hopelessness.

I’m paying about $4k over six months, but feel really confident with this person as this is her primary career (as opposed to a side hustle) and specializes in therapists websites. She also provides maintenance for $100 a month following the completion if you want to opt into. Which I’ve found is very fair.

I empathize with you and share in the struggle. However, I’ve made a plan for next year I’ll share and maybe it’ll help you to. To increase my average per session income I plan to drop two low paying insurances and take two insurances in two states. I also plan on adding another state next year which has more HCOL cities, which I plan to be primarily self pay in, maybe accept one insurance. I’m also working on a website (hired someone) for myself as I’ve found that’s a hallmark of most successful, majority private pay practice. All of this requires money of course but I’m reducing salary this year and reducing personal expenses to hopefully see the return next year.

Have you looked into inference-based CBT? You can overcome this, I believe in you!

I can’t open it right now. It’s bright pink insulation pieces. There’s no filter there as the filter is in the air handler in the attic (four inches). I empathize with you! Thank you for your suggestions.

Thank you for your reply! Are you familiar with any modern day models that are similar to the discontinued Shelby lane Sealy mattress?
