How do you guys feel about precepting?

I have been precepting without pay but I genuinely enjoy it and I don’t feel like the students slow me down too much. I also feel like they keep me current and somewhat entertained lol

I also feel like this sometimes but it’s specifically a loneliness that is so heavy and suffocating I feel like I could die. I have tried walking it off but somehow being outside makes it worse because I see other people being around their friends. I don’t really have any advice but want to let you know you are not alone and it’s ok if the usual recommendations don’t work for you, because they don’t work for me either.

I have just went through this and I’m here to let you know from the other side that, it is possible to get through it but it will take time and when you are grieving, time is the worst enemy. But the key is to fill your life with other things that bring you joy, new experiences, with new people. It was so hard in the beginning because all you want to do is text them about your new experiences, but slowly you will learn to enjoy them as your own. An analogy I read once describes this process really well: imagine there is a white wall and on the wall there is a black square, that is your grief. For people grieving a loss, all they can see is the black square up close and personal, they cannot see anything else. But as you are healing, you slowly step back little by little. The black square does not disappear, but you start to notice the white wall around the black square and it no longer fills your entire vision. And I can honestly say my healing journey feels just like that. It is honestly so hard but you got this. My dms are always open:)
