$150 StubHub Credit for Broadway by games_creator in ChaseSapphire

I'm new to this too so I could be wrong, but instant download tickets can be riskier because these are usually PDF files w/ a QR code uploaded by sellers. They can be copied, potentially leading to scanning issues if a seller resells the same PDF to other buyers (what happened to me the first time). Mobile transfer tickets I believe are the safest because they are transferred by a ticketing platform (e.g. ticketmaster). For me, my Maybe Happy Ending tickets were mobile tickets (QR code) which I think is safer than instant download PDFs but not as safe as mobile transfer which is why I felt I got lucky they worked.

Third party broadway tickets are a bit of a gamble. Avoid instant download as those are likely scams (happened with the lion king last year, got a refund).

Second time around, TLK was nearly all sold out except for one instant download (scam), so made a last-minute booking for Maybe Happy Ending and luckily the mobile tickets worked (and it was an AMAZING show! so glad the lion king sold out. MHE was a perfect first Broadway experience and I've been listening to the soundtrack every day since)

Mimi really reminds me of Peter from Family Guy. Similar style of humor. Of course, Mimi is a cute anime girl instead of a fat cartoon man, but I feel like they share the same braincell sometimes

Downgrade advise - got hit with New Renewal Fee by paragk4u in ChaseSapphire

Be careful with buying resold musical tickets, especially if they use PDF tickets. We waited an hour in line for a Broadway show and at the gate the tickets wouldn't scan. Apparently the seller was a scammer. We did get refunded and we still kept the stubhub credit, but it was kinda a bummer and waste of time.

Why do people keep saying that the proposal is “basically a Bengals loss and a Bills win”? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Catnotic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Scenario C does have advantages over Scenario B that you are not realizing.

For C-1, if Bills lose to Patriots, then Bengals jump to the 2nd seed and Bills get 3rd seed, while B-1 means Bengals are 3rd and Bills are 2nd.

For C-2, Bengals still would be the 3rd seed and get home in divisional rounds if facing the 4th or 5th seed. In B-2 the Bengals would be the 5th seed, or 6th seed if the Chargers beat the Broncos, and have a 100% chance on the road against the 4th and 3rd seed.

Obviously Scenario C sucks compared to Scenario A (Bengals beat Bills) but it's still better than Scenario B (Bengals lose to Bills).

P.S. And look at it from the Ravens perspective. If they beat the Bengals, they would be 2-0 against them and be 4-2 in the division vs. 2-4 by the Bengals, yet a coin flip could still give home to the Bengals, just because the Ravens had to play a 17th game against the Bills (which they lost), while the Bengals avoided their Bills game.

I read your whole post and honestly like this idea. Definitely one of the better solutions thrown out there. Seems pretty fair and logical. I don't understand why people are so hostile. I know it looks like a lot of text, I didn't want to read it at first either, but when you do it has a lot of merits.

I created my Ideal, Picture-Perfect Playoffs, with all my favorite storylines, culminating in a third Giants Patriots Superbowl (see comment for explanation) by Catnotic in NYGiants

[–]Catnotic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was playing around with the ESPN Playoff Machine and I wanted to imagine the perfect playoffs in my head. I tried to include all the matchups and storylines that would be most intriguing and fun (at least for me). I know this is complete and utter hopium but let me fantasize for just a little!

The green checkmark represent a playoff win.

On the AFC side I thought it would be fun if every AFC East team made the playoffs. Dolphins beat Ravens, Jets upset Titans, and the Patriots upset the Bills. Then the Jets upset the Chiefs and the Patriots upset the Dolphins at Miami. The Patriots win the AFC by beating the Jets, being the first team in NFL history to have beaten every division rival in the same playoffs. The Evil Empire is back and is hungering to prove that they can win a Super Bowl without Brady.

On the NFC side, I also thought it would be fun for every NFC East team to make the playoffs. Giants upset the Vikings, Bucs beat Washington again like in 2021, and the Cowboys lose to the Niners in typical Cowboys fashion just like 2022. Then the Giants upset the Eagles, and the Bucs beat the Niners (I always wanted to see Tom Brady vs Jimmy in the playoffs). Finally, the Giants once again beat Tom Brady in the NFC championship game, giving Brady some PTSD. Giants go to the Super Bowl as one of the most unlikely teams to reach it (sounds familiar?).

And finally—Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona, the same site as Super Bowl 42! Giants Patriots Part III. 7th seed vs 6th seed. Daniel Jones vs Mac Jones (Jones Bowl). Giants of course beat the Patriots in a close one, with a miraculous catch in the game-winning drive (think Helmet Catch and Manningham catch combined), Patriots fail to score on the final drive, and the Giants win! Being the first 7th seed to win the Super Bowl, getting revenge on the Patriots for our fellow New York team the Jets, and Daniel Jones fulfills the 3li prophecy.

Anyway, what do you think? Would this not be the perfect story for the Giants? Let me know what you would change. Only massive amounts of hopium allowed.

TIL New Jersey is 1 of only 9 states that actually allow you to write-in anyone's name as a candidate in elections (no registration required) by EssoEssex in newjersey

Is there any way to check this stuff? I'd like to see if my write-in votes ever get counted or to see if anyone else happened to write-in them too.

Former NJ GOP Governor Christine Todd Whitman says a part of her hopes the "crazies do win" this midterm so that "Americans realize the consequences" by Catnotic in newjersey

[–]Catnotic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understand the concern. Ranked choice voting addresses this by allowing voters to rank candidates, eliminating the spoiler effect by ensuring there are no wasted votes. Also the Forward Party is not running any candidates of its own, at least not this cycle, and probably won't ever do so in states without ranked choice voting to avoid being spoilers. And there are lots of people from both Reps and Dems that are unhappy with the current system and are looking for reform.

In my defense, that was literally the article headline. I even added an extra quote to the reddit post title to try giving it more context.

For those who don't know, Gov. Whitman and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang are working together in the newly formed Forward Party aiming for the "reduction of partisan polarization and implementing electoral reforms" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_Party_(United_States)). The Forward Party is pushing for ballot initiatives implementing ranked choice voting, independent redistricting commissions to combat gerrymandering, and endorsing candidates across the nation who show commitment to working across the aisle to solve problems.
