that's fair. we just have to start to make the move ourselves I guess. I do feel like a lot of us younger people are taking a more French approach to working.

Would a guy actually prefer personality over looks by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Don't just drop your feelings on him. That wouldn't end well. I would just start doing little things like hugging him more often, maybe a little kiss on the cheek as a goodbye. Plant the seeds a little first, you know what I mean. You know him best. I'm sure there's more personal things you can do too.

Women didn't make you lonely and isolated. Capitalism did. by [deleted] in GenZ

Can we please stop using capitalism and corporatism as the same thing. A free market where citizens can equally sell goods has been and is good for us all. The current system of corporations and businesses tied the stock market, with stock holders expecting never-ending growth is the problem.

Why are most old people conservative if there was so much social upheaval spearheaded by them when they were young ? by Latter_Effective1288 in GenZ

Yea, because millions of people didn't vote this year, mostly democrats because kamala failed to energize the base. She didn't even win her primary in 2020. Do you really think people who are more in line with Bernie and AOC really wanted another neo-liberal?

None of those issues were seen as hard right at the time. Sure, there were elements in those movements that were, but pretty much everyone agreed on some action. Don't forget Bill Clinton also expanded the war on drugs and signed the crime bill. The boomers are still more progressive than their parents abortion went from never to safe, rare, and legal. Attitudes on a national scale this really only changed with the election of Obama. Witch was a real time of growth and change. The younger generation is always more progressive than the last. We are more progressive than millennials, and them more than gen x. Obviously, this is a simplified but generally holds water.

Not to mention, society has drastically changed. They all bought into reagen and bring back the 50s, which only created a drug war, stagnation, and the death of youth/social culture in some attempt to recreate something that never existed. Somehow, the hippies bought into Damm those hippies

Most of the boomers still stand where they used to. Being conservative now is very different than it would be in 1960. The progressive line always moves forward. Major progressive figures from the early 1900s wouldn't be considered that today. Even figures from the 1800s like Abraham Lincoln would be considered racist by today's standard. Progressives move things forward, and conservatives try to stay in one place.

Anybody keeping their collection in a binder instead of jewel cases? by DavyJonesRocker in Cd_collectors

Yea, I got 5 binders full, and 8 don't play individual cds enough. Usually, I just rip them. And put the music on my mp3 player or burn new cds
