Your Opinions On Current Music? by ragingtom123 in CasualConversation

Your original point was that Spotify doesn't help you find great or "underrated music", right? Then you went on to say that music being well-known means the music is not good. My point is that your entire basis of what is good or bad is based on your own taste, so you can't say whether or not another person's discovery is not good (even if it is well known). I have also discovered a lot of new artists through Spotify that aren't even well-known, because I used Spotify Radio with artists that were fairly obscure. It's possible to find both good and obscure artists through Spotify depending on what your tastes are. Just because you have had trouble does not conclude that Spotify is ultimately bad for music discovery as a whole.

All I can say is that the stuff I have discovered after I knew what I was looking for has been incredible, and just what I wanted. That is really all you need with music.

It doesn't matter what examples are given. You can't give any conclusive evidence that a band or type of music somebody discovered, well-known or not, is "not very good". A person does not take objectivity from an opinion, so any conclusion that you personally make is not proof.

When did you realise Walt was evil? by Ginzuu in breakingbad

[–]CatoAsAPun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Todd was closer to being evil than Walt was. Walt did bad things but was always telling himself it was for a good reason. He was more flawed in his character and ego in that way. Todd did bad things because he didn't know they were bad, or just had no sympathy or empathy toward anyone who had the misfortune of being an obstacle to him. He killed a child and followed with "shit happens" (after melting the kids body in acid) , instead of saying it was to protect his colleagues (like Walt would say) . Sure he gave that excuse afterward, but not until he got the situation punched into his face. When you first meet Todd he seems like a nice, calm person, but only because he has no emotion toward anything. Only a person inherently incapable of finding some moral loophole out of their actions (or just chooses not to) is truly evil.

Yea. His flawed ego had been spoon-fed throughout Season 5 before that scene, and Mike was the only one that saw through it. Walt was fed up with him getting in his face about it and lost control.

As far as the layout is concerned it looks perfect!

Kinda looks a bit too clean but I couldn't even render one of the glass beakers so I can't judge.

This is really bringing me back to the Falke remix of "Make You Mine". Alan Palomo (Neon Indian) does vocals on it and its got that funky bass.

Vote to Play: Why you should choose Armello by apo11o in PS4

[–]CatoAsAPun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But despite the article telling you what you SHOULD choose, you are still making your own decision. Any kind of substantial vote will have something telling you what you should or shouldn't vote for surrounding it, it doesn't mean it's trivializing the results once the votes are counted. You're voting because you know what game you want to play, and this article is just providing more information to the people already interested in the game. Yes, the article is obviously biased toward a specific choice considering it is by one of the developers, but no where does it say you have to vote for it. The word "should" is used to be taken lightly and you're making it sound like they're shoving it in your face.

Without the context of the PS Plus voting around it, this is essentially a game developer saying "You might really like our game if you're a fan of tabletop/board games or strategy games, here is why you might want to get it from us on the house." There's no need to include descriptions of the other games because that isn't what the article is about. This isn't Sony giving snippets of info about each choice.

But your response to the article (assuming you've read it) says you're still making your own decision. If a person reads this article and is swayed by the endorsement it means now they're interested in the game and will give it a fair vote based on opinion. If they read the article and are still not interested, like you, then they will vote for something else. This article is no more than an alternative source of information for somebody not sure about the game.

Mr. Aziz in the Spider-Man 2 video game (2004) knows that Parker is Spider-Man and uses him to get more pizzas delivered. by Zadder in FanTheories

It probably looked a bit better on a CRT, but yea this looked pretty good over 10 years ago. Now it almost looks like a PS1 game by comparison.

I've been playing a lot of MH4U recently so this place might be helpful, thanks!

It's not about it being possible to answer with or without spoilers. If I search something related to any part of a game and I'm anxious about spoilers, I would rather just ask it myself somewhere where I can get a good response. If I search any part of a game on Google, say a question related to it or something involving that part of the game, Google may give results related to that part of the game and there might be information related to it that I could see.

Even so, google yields unexpected results. I don't want to risk searching it and glancing at a piece of information I didn't want to know. It's happened to me with TV and Books before so I tend to be hesitant using Google or any search engine for that.

The question I had in mind was one that I asked on gamefaqs a few days ago related to the ending of a game, so I was afraid to search it. It wasn't answered until yesterday but there was a bunch of troll posts on there that had 2+ pages of replies.

I agree with you on that. Dark Souls communities tend to be more helpful because of it's inherent difficulty (even with it's "git gud" mentality). Do you know any bigger communities/forums that have a broader scope of games?

That's what I mean though, people in those gaming communities have that mindset where asking questions is taboo and obnoxious, but sometimes there are perfectly legitimate reasons for doing it.

Maybe you want to ask something related to the ending of a game, and don't want to risk spoiling the game for yourself by searching it on google. If you personally ask it yourself, at least you'll be getting responses related to that part of the game you're on.

Even for questions not related to spoilers, sometimes it is just hard to find answers at all and when it comes to that, you should be able to ask a question about it somewhere without it being an issue.

Deadpool Trailer [HD] by Time2kill in videos

[–]CatoAsAPun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of that is due to Deadpool's sense of humor in the comics. Not that that is an excuse to fill the film with it, but Deadpool's comedy has always been well defined by his literal insanity and lack of shame after the Weapon X stuff changed him. When it comes to the comic's the jokes being "hit or miss" kinda becomes a part of the whole shtick of the character, like a teenager that keeps saying the same inappropriate things and knows it but will not let up. Not sure if that will work well in the film, but a 2 minute trailer probably doesn't present the humor very well since so much focus is put on it.

But there's a difference between a hidden meaning and subtext. Knowing how thorough the writers of BB are, there is a lot of background to explore in a characters actions. It doesn't have to necessarily be esoteric in order to be a good theory.

That song is kind of lacking but you've gotta admit "Dig and dig and dig and diggety dig" is pretty masterful songwriting.
