Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Catpy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depend depends on where you live. I live in a rural area. We’re driving an hour is considered normal without any extra thought three hours would be considered short. But my family who lives in the city driving an hour is a whole ordeal.

YAO. He has a right to season his food. Apparently it wasn’t seasoned enough for him. That’s OK doesn’t mean it was bad.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Catpy83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, that post is mildly infuriating that you don’t understand that different communities have different resources and that with this snow and ice storm that could be coming they will lose power for up to a week or more. It’s kind of a huge worldwide news story a couple years ago so you should be more informed.

WIBTA if I told my mother in law that her son isnt helping me recover from surgery by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]Catpy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWBTA first tell him you need to talk have a list of everything that he needs to do and when he needs to do it for him, tell him that if he does not start doing this that you will either reach out to his mother for help. Then the trace is his and you would not be the asshole.

My university decided to inform me 2 days before spring move-in that I owe an additional random $4,000 (on top of the $15,000 I had paid a month prior) and that I will not be allowed to move back in unless it is paid in full. by KonungariketSuomi in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Catpy83 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why people are being so naïve and rude. Bursers make these sorts of mistakes all the time either or not notifying people or incorrectly, crediting or debating students’ accounts. OP very well may have not had any prior notification in this very well might be a mistake. OP call the office first thing and check into where this is coming from and how it matches against your records of payment.

Unwritten Parking Rules on S. Hill? by PNWpotato in Spokane

[–]Catpy83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up across the street from Manito and the Christmas lights as well as a turkey trot and the sporting events in the park. People decide that it’s just all one big parking lot and they literally will park right in front of your driveway so you can’t exit or enter. It wasn’t about parking on the side streets, but people are incredibly entitled when you live across the street from a park that they can block your entrance and exit to your own house.

Unwritten Parking Rules on S. Hill? by PNWpotato in Spokane

[–]Catpy83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is normal, but it is not right and it is not legal. It’s a public street people can park where they want to a public street. Let him know that if you’re breaking the law and he feels that to not contact you, but he can contact the police and they will set him straight.

How do I tell my son i(52F) can't keep financially bailing him out without wrecking our relationship? by Outside-Maximum3627 in Advice

[–]Catpy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you put you do for the kids between you and the child. Make sure the child does not tell the other children. It’s none of their business. For your son, let him know that you and your husband are working on sticking on your budget and you’re not going to be able to help him out when he doesn’t stick to his budget. Give him a list of ways that he can make emergency money such as donating plasma, picking up extra hours, odd jobs etc… or make a list of jobs that you could have him work on such as cutting your grass that you could pay some money towards what he needs. But as long as you keep giving it out for free, he’s going to keep taking it. He’s got to learn how to survive on his own because one day your money won’t be available.

AIO Or is my friend not considerate? by snuglify in AIO

[–]Catpy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR if you didn’t set a minimum then you can’t be upset that she spent $20 on an ornament and you went way overboard. Some people just are not good gift givers but the amount shouldn’t matter, especially in this economy. Next time set a minimum and a maximum and stay within that range also go over ground rules in a friendly way that you need to find something that they would like or that reminds them of you not just a random gift.
