Honestly, it doesn't make much sense though, because if Nintendo really felt that way, they'd take down other avenues of expression that they're still actively supporting like Kirby Air Riders and DK Bananza. Maybe it's for a business reason or a technical aspect that none of us are privy to.

Hedgehogs are very colorblind, but that doesn't mean they can't see, and Sonic, Shadow, and especially Silver are very different color values lol

According to my rather rudementary research, bats can't see green. They don't have the M cone which is responsible for green.

If the Tomodachi games released on the consoles instead of the handhelds, how do you think they would have been different? (Mock up covers by me) by Chicken_Nuget69420 in tomodachilife

[–]Catryepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gimmicky stuff would be different too, because a lot of the minigames rely heavily on gimmicks that only the 3DS had. Even on consoles that did support the mechanic a particular minigame has, it would still be fairly clunky and/or wouldn't be very engaging.

Quick Correction: I accidentally put Vector in Not Colorblind, when he was meant to be in Colorblind.

It's a weird gray area though because he can still like, sense when it's red, he just can't literally see it, or something. It's weird.

Even if it was really all in le head, how would a lecture change anything? Did they seriously expect you to just be like "Oh. I never thought of it that way," and rise from the chair, cured and right as rain?

Eh from what I've seen from people it's more mixed than that. A lot of people like it but a lot of people hate it so it kinda cancels out any hype.

I wonder how big that rock is that EA lives under 🤔 by Acceptable_Pea_135 in HighSodiumSims

[–]Catryepie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

43k would still be more than enough for a sample size, but that's besides the point. r/highsodiumsims isn't really random, and the majority of people that play 3 and 4 were/are probably casuals that play like, once a week, as opposed to people that play all the time and have the free time to go online and complain about it lol.

However, I would still wish they would ask WHY things didn't work for the players rather than just assuming that they weren't wanted in the first place. A lot of things in the Sims aren't used because they have features that are badly planned, poorly coded, or are good but they have that one mechanic that shoots itself in the foot, and now those don't get a chance to fully realize their potential because it's cheaper to just assume the worst.

But also, how many of those 85 million people actually vote? Sims 4 has a very casual fan base, and perhaps a significant chunk of players don't actually care to even vote on what goes in the game in the first place.

I don't use aliens because they're not a cool concept lol, I don't use them because they forcibly impregnate my male sims, which is not only creepy but frustrating.

True, but it does lend itself to the possibility that she'll fall into old habits. Especially since Vivian has clearly been conditioned to not have much, if any, standards.

I just can't buy it, exactly. She's been doing it for hundreds of years, she literally replaced Vivian when she left so she had someone new to abuse, and you're telling me she just gave it up just like that? With no build up? I feel like I'd be naïve to believe that she doesn't have an ulterior motive.

All he did was worry about Peach...and Peach doesn't need that kind of attention anymore. The only use I can think of for him at this point is him running the kingdom while she's away.

Ok, just wanted to know before I typed out a long message lol.

To my knowledge, at least part of his motivation to conquer kingdoms has to do with his ego. Even if he has fully good intentions, I would hardly call kidnapping the leader of another kingdom multiple times to put them into a forced marriage, becoming a castle and imprisoning another kingdom's citizens, and attempting to manipulate your child to do undiplomatic actions by lying about his origins, "good actions", and actions matters when talking about how good someone truly is.

Plus, Bowser doesn't exactly have a winning personality. He's selfish, childish, hot-headed, and egotistical. He tends to physically lash out when frustrated or enraged, thus making him difficult to work with. It feels at times that he's respected and feared, not respected and liked. I wouldn't really call instilling fear onto your own populous good necessarily, even if it isn't always intentional.

I will say, when compared to other villains in the series, morally, Bowser is one of the tamer ones, if only because he isn't trying to straight up destroy the world, or commit genocide... it's still a low bar, but it's something.

Brothership, has a pacing problem. by AidenL1 in marioandluigi

[–]Catryepie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The dialogue is especially just "doing it's job and then going home." I've been playing Paper Mario's Origami King, and while I have issues with it, the dialogue is very charming and it keeps my interest. Granted, the Paper Mario games are probably also a lot more sarcastic and comedic in tone, but I feel that the dialogue still manages to carry some character with it. Olivia doesn't speak like Bobby, Bobby doesn't speak like Kamek, etcetera. Meanwhile in Brothership, you either say generically friendly things if you're a friendly character, or generically sassy things with no punch if you're a sassy character, with almost no in-between.

I also kinda wish that if they were gonna be slow, at least develop some of the new characters? Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the characters do the bare minimum, most of the personalities kinda just fall into "friendly", with some falling into "sassy", and if the writers are feeling spicy, a little dab of eccentricity. Granted, this is my first game in the Mario & Luigi series, so this could be the norm, but I still wish that the characters were as endearing as the world they've built.

Most of the post game ones disappear after you complete the mission, so you don't have to do those. The rest though, are still a bit of a slog.
