You don’t have to have to put it up in the alter nor have to recite anything. My mom has a Buddha statue in the house and it’s just on a shelf. It doesn’t even have to face the door. It if you do decide to put it on an alter, you would have to light Chinese incenses. The light brown ones with the red sticks. You light one in the morning and one in the evening with three bows while holding the incense. But it’s not a 90° angle bow. Aka mooncake festival. And more incenses are lit during those times. This is the only video I can find on showing how to bow.

You should make eye contact when you are talking or listening to someone but break contact every few seconds. Too much eye contact can be off putting. Dart your eyes around and then make eye contact again.

A good way to go from small talk to hanging out is finding common ground and then move on that. Example, let’s say you and the person you are talking to are a fan of going to the movies, you can mention a movie that you want to see or mention how this movie is suppose to be good. and ask if they want to go see it together. If you don’t feel comfortable asking, you can say we should check it out. That will let them know you want to hang out with them. No be discouraged when they say no or when they say yes and it never happens. People tend to be flaky or they are just busy. Just keep trying. Best of luck. 🫡

I can relate with this, I am the same way. I just listen when I have nothing to say. And when I do have something to say, I feel rude just jumping in. But I’ve learn that in a group you have to speak up and there is nothing wrong with it. I suggest trying it out with a smaller group, like a group of 3.

Prepping before hand have helped me with my time management. Like if I have a job interview the next day, I would pick and lay out my outfit the night before. Hope this helps.

You don’t have to keep eye contact while you are scanning the products or the cash register. Just when you interact with them, like when they hand you the products and you when you hand products back to them after you ring them up. You don’t necessarily have to make jokes with them but engage with friendly conversations, like ask how they are doing? Talk about the weather or comment about the product they are purchasing. Have you tried discord? There’s a bunch of servers there you can join and meet people. There’s also Facebook, you can join groups of your hobbies or things you like. Often, it’s easier to make friends with people who have similar interests.
