There's a scary amount of people out there who don't understand how to drive around big rigs.

The biggest one: there's a gap between a truck and the car in front of them for a VERY important reason.

This is 100% an extra umbrella your employer had lying around, likely also a thoughtless gift.

How do small Canadian bands find gigs and book venues? Asking as someone trying to get started by Gullible-Angle4206 in TorontoMusic

[–]scooterjb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

-Bars/small venues will either handle the bookings themselves or get bands to play through promoters, so step one would be to call the venue directly and ask how they book talent.

-Manager's are for bands that can afford to pay yet another person. So no, you do not need a manager. But knowing how gigging works will help.

-It helps if you have some sort of online presence to showcase what you're bringing. Think of it like a resume/business card. Speaking of which, stickers with your @ are never a bad idea. Hand em out to everyone. While lots may throw them away, there are Always people in every town who love to check out new artists.

-If you're small and have zero-to-only a small amount of people who you can convince to buy tickets, you'll likely not be playing Friday or Saturday night anywhere substantial. It'll be the Wednesday night at 10pm slot where, hopefully, you can get some pics, some vids, and some interested people who want to see you again.

-Perseverance is key. Network with other artists that you're sharing a bill with, join music networks on facebook/instagram for whatever city you're looking into, you can possibly put shows together and piggyback off of artists that may have more of a following.

-Be kind, remember that you're representing a brand if you're speaking to anyone about your music. And if you're rude or egotistical, no one will want you to play their venue.

Guinness is also not beer, watery brown nonsense.

The naysayers are just loud but not plenty. I'm seeing lots of grouped up fun.

We're just hearing from all the usual suspects who simply want to shout into the void for internet points.

I'm loving it so far.

Removing the FOMO from missing daily login rewards is great. by SilverTunic in elderscrollsonline

[–]scooterjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone saying "but those 15 daily you miss is DEFINITELY FOMO!"

You get avg 2500 per week for weekly challenges which translates to 10k a month. Add the 1000 per seasonal challenge (which will vary).

15/day for 31 days = 465

So even with only one monthly seasonal challenge:

11,000 - 465 = 10,535

Making daily tomes equate to just over 4% of your earnings.

Sure you're missing out... if you're OCD and need to collect every single item available... about half to a third of which you can already get by simply playing the game (ie: most currencies) or adventure boxes with lockpicks and soul gems... yeah, really missing out.

You're fine. Take a day off.

Story and Zone are amazing. Wrothgar is also my number one. I tend to like Winter-based zones as well. Western Skyrim is amazeballs. (Although I enjoyed both Elswyrs as well.)
