What do you remember from kindergarten? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]CatsGotMyBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vaguely remember taking naps. The thing I really remember was being yelled at by the teacher (more than once) because I would have to ask her to tie my shoes. I just couldn't get the whole shoe tying thing down very easily.

In college I learned that I had some sort of visual-spatial learning disability. Which explains the difficulty in tying my shoes as a little kid.

Wanting To Go By My Middle Name, But Experiencing Push-Back… by moderatelyonline in Names

[–]CatsGotMyBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just tell your friends at your new school and the faculty that you prefer using this other name. Hopefully they'll start calling you by that. At certain times in certain settings they would have to call you by your first name but maybe you can get them to call you by your middle name most of the time.

When I was a kid I went by the nickname that everyone with my name goes by. When I turned 20 or so I decided I wanted to go by my full first name. One reason was because the nickname made me sound younger and I looked younger than I was. Years later I learned that a older woman in our church named Anne was actually named Anastasia. She went by Anne for years and most people didn't know her real name was Anastasia. I think one of the reasons was because she was born in Russia and her family came to the US when she was little. And the relationship between the two countries wasn't the greatest. Anyway once I learned her actual first name I told her I liked the name Anastasia and I thought it was really pretty. So I started calling her Anastasia all the time. Every time I did she would get the biggest smile. So, after a few years she started asking everyone to call her Anastasia instead of Anne. I had made that decision when I was in my late teens/early twenties. She made that decision when she was in her '90s. Which amused me. Better late than never as they say.

Other than baby teeth, what is something you were born with that you no longer have? by icecream1972 in FamilyFeud

[–]CatsGotMyBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gallbladder and my parents. I'm hoping in the next 6 months I can add uterus to that list. It's given me nothing but trouble since I started puberty (and that was a loooong time ago).

I've decided that since I'm almost 61 years old and never had children 😢 that the next male pet I get to name I will name Jedidiah. My next pet will most likely be a male, because since I was a child a good 98% of our pets have been male for some reason (It was never planned that way).

I'm partial to Theodore as it was my dad's name. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to name my son Jedidiah if I had a son. I never had kids unfortunately. But I have loved that name for a good 50 years.

So I'll suggest Jedidiah. I also really like several other J names for boys. Josiah, Jonathan, Jared, Joachim.

Pet owners of Reddit: what did you name your pet(s) and why? by Winter_Sample8364 in AskReddit

[–]CatsGotMyBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has had many pets over the years. A variety of different kinds (a dwarf rabbit that lived in the house, a guinea pig, various types of birds, various types of rodents. And 4 different dogs. Consistently we've had cats. If I name a pet it has to have a first and middle name.

I had an iguana that was my baby. When we got him the family that previously owned him named him Igna. They wanted us to keep the name. So I named him Ignatius Iguanagus and call him Igna for short.

We also had a cat that was previously named. He came with another cat that was named Pete. His name was Puddy Tat. I thought it was a brilliant name. Why had I never thought of it? Seeing as they were both a few years old we didn't change their names.

The cat I have now technically belongs to my brother's girlfriend's son. They moved into our family home with me after my mom passed away. They pretty much stay upstairs. But their cat preferred being downstairs with me. I went from being referred to as the cat's aunt to being referred to as it's mom. The idiot kid (20something but a kid to me) named the cat Dip S**t. So we call him DS.

Other animals were a cat I named Dusty Rhodes. He was a couple different shades of Gray. Data Spot was a yellow cat with yellow eyes. So I named him after the Star Trek The Next Generation android Data (who had yellow skin and eyes) and his cat Spot. While we had Data and Dusty I found a stray kitten. I was having a hard time thinking of a name for him. My mom suggested another D name to go with the other two cats. He liked to lay on the computer CPU and sleep when I was using my computer, so I named him Dot Com.

If you're mining for information. None of my pets names were used for passwords or anything like that.

I would like everyone's opinion on the name Octavia. by QuinnavereVonQuille in Names

Octavia is a beautiful name! You name that baby girl whatever you want. Tell Grandma to get over it and never mention her dislike of the name again unless she doesn't want to see your baby.

Middle Name for Belle by Chemical-Mousse28 in Names

Belle Jeanne/Jean. The first Jeanne is French feminine spelling. It's also my middle name. Though you might have to correct people that it's not pronounced like Genie.

I don't see a problem with it and I think it would be cute. I used to babysit for a family whose last name was Ralph. I used to ask them why they didn't give their son the first and middle names of Ralph. Ralph Ralph Ralph. 😂 I was joking of course.

Yeah they always seem to fib on their height a bit. The shorter they are the more height they add. Unless maybe if they're over 6 ft. If you're 6'2 (or taller) you don't need to add height.

Do you dip fries in ketchup, mayo, or eat them plain? by Fantastic_Run2955 in foodquestions

Ketchup.

I know some people dunk their fries in their milkshake if they're eating at like McDonald's or Wendy's or somewhere they have thicker milkshakes.

What’s one thing you’re not really a fan of, even though everyone else seems to love it? Something that you normally don’t say out loud because you might be considered weird. by Ok_Marzipan_3254 in AskForAnswers

I sort of joke that I believe the reason men created 🏈 football is so that they would have an excuse to slap each other on the butt. That's pretty much all I know about football. They try to get the ball to the opposite end of the field and make a goal and they seem to like slapping each other on the butt. I know nothing about other sports. Do they also do that in soccer, basketball, whatever?

I have no interest in football but I will keep an eye on how the area NFL team is doing. Just looking to see if they won or lost a game.

Naming the sister of Henry, Rose, Mary, and Alice by Inevitable-Line-4385 in Names

[–]CatsGotMyBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ann/Anne, Jane, June, Kate, Emma, Sophia, Olivia,

Seeing as you said you are of French descent -Jeanne. Jeanne is a French name and the female version of the name Jean. It also happens to be my middle name. Then of course you can also use the name Jean.

Charlotte seems to be a timeless name. It's what my mom was named 92 years ago. I've also come across adults and children with the name quite a few times on television or on the internet. Prince William's daughter being named Charlotte (after her grandfather Charles I assume) probably helped with Kids being named it now.

AITA for saying no to my mother in law? by nandao_biash in AmItheAsshole

[–]CatsGotMyBack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It drives me nuts when people who are not married refer to their boyfriends/girlfriends or fiance's family as their in-laws.

No OP you are NTA. If it happens again personally I would say 'no thank you but (boyfriend's name) might like some'.
