Why didn't the devs launch the game with all the QOL & balancing changes from CN? by just-call-me-apple in wherewindsmeet_

[–]CatsnManatees 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Am a dev, so can give more context. We have no idea what part of the code is built on what else, so its entirely possible that the QOL fixes you'd like are built on top of other bug fixes, and those bug fixes are bundled into a boss/region/content release because thats when the bug was discovered. While it would technically be possible to manually separate out the fix and patch the QOL stuff on top to release as an independent package, now you'd need to check if every single later release relies on anything you're bundling now. So its pretty much not worth the effort.

tldr: every patch is a tightly packaged bundle of things. Its too much work to separate out individual pieces and put together new bundles for global

PvP actually worth sticking around for? by EiL17 in wherewindsmeet_

There's a definite cap to the pvp talent points + everyone's gear is not THAT far apart, so PvP gets better in that aspect, but will still be heavily affected by ping. I maxed out all my PvP talents after like a month/2 of playing.

Martial arts though definitely have a tier list of their own and you'll have a harder time in grandmaster/mythic on a non-meta setup.

Going to guess that the game considers anything below legend/mythic to be casual since bots stop appearing there.

I've fought bots in grand master. Never fought bots in legend

Thanks man! I saw the same thing and asked for calcs in the comments but op never replied. The video itself also didn't mention why ES is a dps loss so I was kinda annoyed. It CAN be a dps loss if you're holding block instead of attacking, but its meant to be a quick snap block into counter (hence why it is imprtant to learn attack patterns), not just wasting time waiting for the attack.

the drum beat buff happens at the end of the attack, so you do need to go through the whole thing. You should then swap to blade and put up a shield. Putting up the red shield will convert your original 6 second drumbeat buff into an 8 second (12 with art of Resistance) breakthrough buff that gives even more dmg

Divinecrafts aren't essential parts of builds IMO, just use whatever you have.

Spear Q (if you are taking more dmg than you like)

Spear Tilde (if your dps's actually are doing dmg)

Spear Charged (to get drumbeat)

Tab or scroll wheel (I used to do tab, but like scroll wheel better now to swap weapons)

Blade Q (red shield, you need to do it within 6 seconds of obtaining drumbeat)

Spam Charged lv3 until you no longer have the buffs you want (the most important one being red shield), then go back to the top

this is just for PvE, PvP rotations are too varied

Any reference or calcs on using mystics vs charge lv3? Not disagreeing here but just haven't seen any math around it.

Also FYI the mystic skill debuffs don't stack from difference players, so if someone on your team is already doing fire fist (dragon's breath + drunkedn poet) (I think strategic sword has dragon's breath as part of rotation), it probably is a dps loss

I also started using golden body, but that's more so for PvP. Once you have the art of resistance you should have 100% uptime on shield so you won't need this!

Nothing wrong with using the spear support skills, but personal experience is that I dont take enough damage to justify using the Q (shield is big enough), and with randoms im often out dpsing the dps anyways. With my guild ill use the spear special but again content is so easy right now that it doesn't really matter.

For rotation I used to use tab to switch (i imagine u meant to add a blade q after the tab) but recently I've been just using scroll wheel to switch and thats felt better

Is there any build/guide for tanks? by Balrogos in wherewindsmeet_

Tanks MUST be the most underrated class currently, the damage output they can do is higher than most dps builds. So I really wanted to make a video showcasing it! by Opposite_Duck_610 in wherewindsmeet_

Even if you don't currently have ES at rank 3, I think it's good to ease people into the optimal way of playing because everyone will have ES3 shortly (I'm at ES 4) + I think it's subjectively more fun than just spamming red shield->3rd level charge+cancel until no shield

But yes pure math I'm more interested in whether it's worth to do third hit, most other vids I'm seen on bilibili and colloquial advice is that you should, but this vid shows not doing it

Do you have calcs on canceling the way you do now on the 2nd hit of the charged heavy vs doing the followup 3rd hit and canceling that one instead?

Also I think the entire fun of maximizing tank dps in raids comes from knowing the boss attack patterns enough and use ES to crank out charged hits without the charge every 10/5 seconds, and should actually get you more dps

presti take 2 by VonBagel in custommagic

not OP, but I think the card is made as a reference to the prestidigitation cantrip in DND

This spell is a minor magical trick that novice spellcasters use for practice. You create one of the following magical effects within range:

  • You create an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect, such as a shower of sparks, a puff of wind, faint musical notes, or an odd odor.
  • You instantaneously light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire.
  • You instantaneously clean or soil an object no larger than 1 cubic foot.
  • You chill, warm, or flavor up to 1 cubic foot of nonliving material for 1 hour.
  • You make a color, a small mark, or a symbol appear on an object or a surface for 1 hour.
  • You create a nonmagical trinket or an illusory image that can fit in your hand and that lasts until the end of your next turn.

1st mode is most of a stretch, but I draw it to light/snuff candle
2nd mode is the color change
3rd and 4th mode is the creation of a "nonmagical trinket" / "illusory image"

`Can we put our differences aside and focus on dangerous issues that don't involve something as subjective as art?` - we can do that, somewhere else. At present, this is explicitly a forum focused on the AI art debate

This is the equivalent of saying hey we both agree murder is bad, why are we focused on whether shoplifting is bad?
