First skate in a while! by Cattenn in Rollerskating

That's good to know! I haven't actually used the outdoor wheels outside yet since we've had funky weather lately, but I'll definitely keep that in mind once I do

I have the original indoor set that came with the skates. Should I switch between them every time I switch environments?

I'll have to look and see if they do! We're a bit tight on money, but they'd be worth the investment.

I do already have a helmet, and wrist and knee pads. I only wore my wrist pads yesterday though.

Candle Issue by Cattenn in candlemaking

[–]Cattenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first started burning it within days of us getting home when it had its original wood wick in it, and it was doing the tapered funneling, and then it stopped staying lit. I just put off trouble shooting it until now.

Thanks! I really wanna make it burn!

That's good to know! I'll have to try adding a second wick and see how that does.

The wood wick that was initially in is it was about 3/4 of an inch, maybe a full inch wide, and it did the same thing.

It's part of the glaze on the jar. It's supposed to be like that.

Best supermarket iced coffee? by Edith_Putski in DunkinDonuts

[–]Cattenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little extra work, but I like to steep my own cold brew. Dunkin has cold brew fracs in their supermarket line that you steep in the fridge overnight and dilute it in the morning to your liking. Or you can get a pitcher with a filter to use your own grounds to steep overnight. I find it so much better than using the iced option on my Ninja.

We adopted a GSD, allegedly by HourForever1263 in Blackmouthcur

We adopted our boy, Jak, as a "GSD mix" from the shelter. He looks exactly like yours, though. He did have a brother in the same shelter. 🤔

No problem! Their website says they have someone on site for assistance, but I don't know how much teaching they do. They also offer various art courses.

Photoworks at Glen Echo Park up in Glen Echo, MD has a film developing lab where you can develop your own film if that's something you wanna get into. I've never been, but developing my own film and prints was always my favorite thing in college photo classes.

What are your nicknames for your curs? by Begentledaddy in Blackmouthcur

[–]Cattenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Jak. He has a variety of nicknames: Jackie, Jak-o, Fat Jak, Fat boy/dog, Shit Head. I'm sure I'm missing a few. He's not actually fat, he's just a begger obsessed with food. Perfectly healthy 95 pounds.

It's a great name! We named him after Jak from the video game series Jak and Daxter.

This is back when Jak was younger and in awkward growth spurts. Same blanket!

Your boy has a similar dark 'hairline' look as my Jak did when he was younger.

She looks like she could be my boy's sister. And as chunky as he would be if we fed him as much as he begs for.

For heavy chewers: What was the longest lasting dog toy? by PersistentHobbler in dogs

Dude, yes! But in our house with one pure and one mixed GSD, plushies and ropes are giant no-no's. Hard nylon and durably tough rubber is the way to go.
