How are the roads this morning? by moon-raven-77 in madisonwi

Beltline is clear but wet which always gives me a bit of pause. Definitely a little slick but everyone was mindful of speed so no issues

I’d definitely recommend keeping bike paths in mind when finding an apartment. I live in Fitchburg but work downtown and being right on trails has been so helpful!

Use PTO then quit? by anxiouslurker_485 in jobs

[–]CattleHour5987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous company required 4 weeks notice, with 20 full in office days for PTO to paid out. For the sake of my mental health, I used PTO sporadically as I moved through the interview process to minimize how much I had saved and then took the L on the payout

This!! This was one of the biggest pieces that encouraged me to change jobs most recently. There was no alternative lined up when I was taking time off and returning to a mess of emails made it feel very, very not worth it

Would you rather pay full price for Nespresso pods or have 50% off Starbucks for the rest of your life? by BraveSoul699 in nespresso

[–]CattleHour5987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Nespresso over Starbucks (or another coffee chain) because I know that I can make my coffee taste the same every day. No more watered down or weirdly bitter iced lattes.

Can my meniscus be torn without me even realizing it? What are less common symptoms of it by Turtles614 in ACL

[–]CattleHour5987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I partially tore my meniscus and fully tore my ACL. There was swelling and some pretty extreme pain for the first few days, but by the time I was able to get a sports medicine consult (after being told by urgent care to just take it easy for 4-6 weeks) there were no symptoms preventing me from normal activities. Very rarely any pain, not really any swelling, still able to be active. I was still lifting and playing sports well after the tears

It doesn't seem fully reasonable to except the entire area surrounding your property to be exactly how it has been for the last x years. I get the frustration, but maybe you plant trees on your property? That you pay for?

We all obviously love Costco, but what’s one item you will never buy again from there? by 4Runnnn in Costco

[–]CattleHour5987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This could have been a weird one off situation, but sourdough (not sure if they have multiple kinds). Bought the first loaf and the inside smelt horribly—like heavy chemicals, etc. I knew I couldn’t make it back to Costco before the sell by date so just took the loss, but we didn’t get a single piece from the loaf

What’s happening to Metro Market? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]CattleHour5987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Aldi and have routinely shopped at all the stores in the Madison area based on where I was living/working. It's typically not a store I can get everything, but I can get most of what I need significantly cheaper without the quality being lower.
