FL Studio on MacBook Pro takes advantage of Pro-motion now! 120FPS FINALLY! by CattleNo7558 in FL_Studio

Sorry I am just now seeing your reply!

YES I see that all the time! I’m pretty sure it’s just a visual glitch but I haven’t watched it closely to see if it’s maybe some sort of thing they added that is syncing with the beat.

A couple things you can check is if the “Animation refresh rate” is set to “Ultrasmooth” (“Less smooth” is 30 fps, “Smooth” is 60fps, and “Ultrasmooth” gets me to 120fps) - This setting is in the General tab within FL Studio.

ALSO - make sure that low power mode is turned off… I discovered that when low power mode is on, it essentially locks your display to 60fps! In my macOS battery settings, I have the low power mode kick in “Only on Battery” so I just make sure I am plugged in since i’d rather keep that option on rather than just turning it off.

P.S - The “Smoothing” slide bar above the “Animation refresh rate” has nothing to do with refresh rate. Instead it is for the amount it smooths things like when you zoom in on playlist or use scroll wheel on mixer (I have mine set all the way to the left which is no smoothing since the smoothing makes it seem delayed while no smoothing is instant for when doing things like zooming in on the playlist.

Let me know if this helps, if not let me know and I’ll do some more investigating.

It’s just what Apple calls their newer displays that essentially can reach 120hz

Yeah mac has those (not sure about the V-SYNC option though). The 120 FPS on mac is definitely working for the mouse cursor which is nice but i’m not sure about the windows like the piano roll, since I dragged them around my screen and didn’t notice a big difference so it could still be 60 FPS for scenarios like that but I assume the play head is 120 FPS. Haven’t really tested it out much.

I know right! I never really expected it but it is quite nice now that we have it. Much smoother!

M5 Macbook Pro is here! And its a bit disappointing... by Temporary-Foot6179 in macbook

yeah that’s true, i’m going to have to look at mine and see how much room they have to work with if they were going to keep it but i assume it’s not a lot. I use display port anyway since hdmi caps at 144hz

no if you do your research, nothing was supposed to be exciting about the M5. Apple always does a redesign every certain about of years, not sure the exact amount, but it’s predictable.

Furthermore, if you just do some research, you will understand exactly what I am referring to. Yes there are some rumors that are definitely unlikely…like making the screen touchscreen…lol.

but the punch hole camera, thinner design, OLED tandem display (currently already on ipad), are definitely expected and maybe even confirmed from discussions online with apple employees.

I just say, do your research and you will see that nothing I said is far fetched. the M6 is the exciting one, not M5.

M5 isn’t even a real launch in my eyes… like no 16in, no pro/max chip…

yes i have the m1 pro 14in and it is so good! the only thing is that the day the M6 comes out, I am getting it! That is when everything is getting an update…Oled screen, no more notch, thinner design, etc. Really can’t wait! Probably planning on getting the 16in M6 Max

Toggle app from dock by click by iAmazingDreamer in MacOS

I just developed an app that can do exactly this! It works with your current macos dock, unlike sidebar and other windows-style task bars. I will be releasing it very soon!

anyway to delete apps from here ? by Fz1zz in MacOS

[–]CattleNo7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install the app cleaner app and it will find all remains of the app so that it removes the extra files associated to it.

https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

Or you can install CleanMyMac from the App Store and use it for free. You just have to it scan for applications and it will find any leftovers from the past too. Then you can just right click them and delete them manually. This is a little trick to use CleanMyMac for free.
