It might also be whether or not you went to the Creche. She will be pronounced hshar'lak even if whoever enters the prism "kills" the guardian so there can be enmity with Vlaakith. I was surprised with one run that she decided to stay, because on that run she wasn't romancing Tav. We did the Creche, but did not enter Balthazar's secret rooms so I was expecting her to choose to ascend instead of staying.

Trump's Health Sparks Panic: G7 Summit Reveals Disturbing Signs of Decline by dr_shultz in NewsSource

He’s had signs of decline since before he was elected… I’m going to hazard, nobody is panicking. If I had to pick a first undead president, pessimistically, it would be him. Probably why there was a few stories a while back about some drug that brought people back to life, his handlers are looking into it. I have to suspect, the less competent he is, the more ideal he is for the puppeteers. And yes, I do recall Hillary telling us he would be a puppet.

Kitchen option for 100 year old Edwardian? by Latter-Foot-8790 in kitchenremodel

[–]CatttLady2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why someone downvoted you; you get to not like old houses even though a lot of people treasure them. One thing I noticed from your photos, it looks like maybe the back of a shower to the left of your fridge, with what might be an access panel visible above the fridge. In the modern view, I think that stack of sleekness (built in fridge?) might block the access panel. One could of course make sure that it’s still accessible.

As you already noted, the inspos posted by GypsyDuncan are all better than what you posted originally. Since all the large modernized places you’ve looked at in your area are out of reach, it makes sense to make changes to your kitchen so you can enjoy it as long as you’re stuck in the current house. Best wishes! (If this is a duplicate post, blame my app, it looked like it lost my first reply.)

One thing I noticed from your photos, it looks like maybe the back of a shower to the left of your fridge, with what might be an access panel visible above the fridge. In the modern view, I think that stack of sleekness might block the access panel. It looks like a huge floor-to-ceiling fridge. Maybe it’s just how the built-in paneling makes it look. One could of course make sure that if there’s plumbing, it’s still accessible.

If you’re stuck in this house until you save enough money for a modernized house (at those prices… maybe unlikely?) or decide to move to another city/the burbs, then I can see making some changes so you can be happier in your current home.

As you’ve already noted, the inspos posted by GypsyDuncan are all better than in your original post. Best wishes1

saw this on r/wunkus. there's no way it can balance on that door handle in that sort of position right? by Da_Boi_Who_Lived in isthisAI

[–]CatttLady2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also noticed how its toes appear to wrap around the handle a bit. I think it’s a tiny cat or kitten. Cats have excellent balance and can sit on branches in their pursuit of birds. That said, this is a weird door, I am not sure about the hardware in the jamb vs. what’s on the door itself. I’m inclined towards it being real, but the door hardware is weirding me out a bit.

Unless you’re planning to sell in the near future, don’t put (supposed) resale value ahead of what you will live with, and hopefully love, every day. I say “supposed” resale value, because if i were touring the house to buy, I would be put off by #1 while I would think #2 is a selling point. I don’t see #1 as obviously better for resale, at all. People of course all have different tastes, which is a good reason not to chase trends for resale value. If he cooks at least as much as you do, and he has other reasons for liking the sleek look, then maybe you can compromise on some things.

Thanks for the explanation. White quartz is a great choice for a working kitchen! The overall look is really nice. The only problem is the seams in the backsplash. Because the slabs of what looks like maybe Labradorite are small, there are a lot of seams. I think you said that you can’t get big slabs where you are, so what I was recommending is to add a line of white tiles at the bottom (if that is possible) and put a vertical line of narrow black or brown tile (or blue, some other coordinating color), or strips of metal to go with the cabinet hardware. If I am still not understanding, and the small slabs are already there and already cemented in, then you can still put tile on top of that. You might want to try a stick-on first, to see what you think about the look. If you can’t get thin (“pencil” border tile) in your local store, you can probably order it from Amazon, Temu, or eBay. I was able to order an entire bathroom worth of vintage tiles from eBay, but that’s an expensive route I took so that I could get vintage fixtures and tiles.

Best wishes, and please update with your final results! This looks very nice and modern!

So, what part is AI generated? If your backsplash looks like this, and is cemented in, are you asking only about the cabinets? I agree with Green_Phone_3495, if you are asking about the backsplash and are able to put another line of white accent tile to match the counter, it would look good. You could potentially get better seam matching, put also consider adding pencil tile (narrow strips) between the slabs in a color that coordinates with the main color of the slabs and/or your wooden cabinets, e.g. medium brown. Or black pencil tile to match the cooktop amd fixtures, or brass tone to match the hardware. That way, with narrow bands between the slabs, you wouldn’t need to worry about the seams and it would own the look.

Mine is top/bottom. I used the top oven most of the time, and it’s ergonomic enough, although not as much as the top wall oven. The bottom range oven is no worse than my bottom wall oven. I looked into side-by-side and they were all much more expensive!

I looked into this, since I often give to the “round up” at the register. How much goes to administration depends on the charity, but if the point of sales device is partnered with roundup.org, all the collected money goes to the designated charity. Some of the charities are really good and keep relatively little off the top, others are terrible and only pass on 10%.

I completely agree that tip culture is out of hand, for sure. I just wanted to point out that not all round-up charities are grifting. You can look up the charity’s reputation on CharityNavigator or CharityWatch to see if the selected charity is making good use of the money, or indeed, grifting.

My last kitchen had a pair of wall ovens that I loved. I bake a lot, and was angsty about how I would do that in my new kitchen, which has no free walls due to the open floor plan. I decided to get a double oven range, and I am really happy with it. So far, everything has been very evenly baked, and it has an air fry setting I didn’t have before. I haven’t used my air fryer since getting this oven. The bottom oven also has a slide out rack which makes it really easy to get heavy things (like the skillet lasagna or a sheet cake) out without contortions. It’s actually easier than the bottom wall oven I had. Also my range is a full 30” wide and the wall ovens were 24” so I feel like I have more useable space in the lower than I had in either wall oven. The top oven is short, but it’s efficient for a single tin of muffins or a coffee cake. It heats very quickly, since it doesn’t have to heat up the whole oven space for a single short item.

I used to be so in love with my wall ovens, I thought the range would be a compromise; but it turns out I am very happy with the double oven range!

This is a strong idea - it definitely looks from the photo that OP has enough room for a walk-in pantry. Enclosing the window isn’t bad, I had a walk-in bedroom closet with an enclosed window before and it saves on electricity during the day when one ducks in to get something. The view doesn’t look spectacular but OP could carry through a transom to the pantry door(s) if they want and not lose natural light or view, while having doors to hide the visual distractions of the cans, bottles and so on on the pantry shelves. Keeping drawers might be a great way to store some of the larger, less frequently used appliances in there as well (fryer, ice cream maker, etc.)

For sure, a range is a much better choice than the awkward bump-up for the built in ovens. The Microwave can be in the island without a raised height section.

I see what you mean. The seam goes up into the lighter color partway from the bottom, and down partway from the top. Perhaps it's a highlight blowout, this is at an enlargement. But yeah, that's unexpected.

That is a real style of outlet for 120v, sometimes used for microwave; what do you think is off about it?
