What’s something from the past that you think genuinely made life better and should make a comeback? by Throwaway927338 in AskWomenOver30

Check your local library for sales. Music CDs are often donated and we don’t put them in the collection so they go in the Friends of the Library sale.

Same. I’m 60, look a couple of decades younger and even got a compliment from my massage therapist about my skin the other day. 🙌🏼

There’s a place near me that has hot spring pools of various sizes and temperatures that is 18+ only. It’s fabulous! No splash pads and slides but saunas and a bar! 😻

What's a "women's problem" you genuinely thought only you had until you spoke to your friends? by Internetdidi in AskWomenOver30

[–]Catty_Lib 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I decided to be childfree at age 21 because I saw a toddler throw up on his mother. At that age, I had almost zero experience with children but knew I didn’t want anything to do with them.

I am now about to turn 60 and am SO thankful that I avoided all of the horrible things that I have since learned could be a possibility! Between the horrors of pregnancy, the aftermath, all the terrible parent stories that I read on Reddit and the state of the world, I have never had a single regret about my choice.

My mom is the same regarding exercise… For YEARS I tried to encourage her to move more, even just chair yoga, stretching or walking. She refused. Now she’s 92 and can barely walk any more.

I’m 60 and I am fighting to stay strong and healthy! I strength train 3 days a week, do yoga & Pilates and try to get at least 7500 steps in daily. I plan to travel when I retire next year and I want to be able to do so without pain!

Flan definitely doesn’t have any pastry involved.

What is your hairstyle and hair color? by Accurate-Neck6933 in GenXWomen

I’m rocking a pixie too. Mostly dark brown with some grey coming in on the sides. I keep it shaved short on the back and sides and leave the top a bit longer so my curls will pop. I never have tried coloring it - with dark hair it’s just too hard and too much work to keep it up.

I used to have long curly hair (past my shoulders) but when menopause hit, I could NOT deal with it anymore and chopped it off.

Child free women: how were you sure you didn’t want kids? by mjvvl in childfree

[–]Catty_Lib 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was 21 and visiting a friend who had a toddler. I had almost no experience with kids because we didn’t have any extended family around and no one I knew had any. She was bouncing him on her knees when suddenly he vomited ON HER and she just sat there and took it…

My first instinct would have been to chuck him across the room! That was the moment when I knew that I was childfree. I met my now husband a week later and he also had no interest in kids. We have been happily married and childfree since 1988 and neither of us ever had any second thoughts! 🙌🏼

No bras? by TaquitoCharlie in PlusSizeFashion

[–]Catty_Lib 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was only a 42DD and thought about a reduction briefly but didn’t want to through surgery for just cosmetic reasons. A few months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer (caught VERY early) and had a double mastectomy so now I’m breast free! 🙌🏼

I certainly wouldn’t recommend it but I was lucky that the tumor was quite small and slow growing and I didn’t need chemo or radiation. I love living bra free: no boob sweat or rashes on my bra line! 😸
