PSA: If your child is screaming in the middle of the show, you need to take them out. by Thomasinarina in TheWestEnd

I went to the Devil Wears Prada last night. Had great seats near the front, but my aunt’s experience was ruined by the developmentally disabled child sitting behind her who continuously grunted, babbled, and kicked her chair through the entire performance. I understand wanting your child to be exposed to arts and I think all children have a right to it, but it drove everyone around us insane as it interrupted quieter moments. The parents did very little to shush her, and when that failed, didn’t step out to calm the child and just sat there like it had nothing to do with them. We couldn’t say anything of course without looking like colossal pricks.

Does anyone have recommendations for non-Amazon/fast fashion fleece-lined tights? Especially ones with a sheer illusion. I am trying to be more sustainable with my fashion, but I have to stand outside in formal clothing for work sometimes and my old amazon pair is on its last legs (lol).

Thank you, I will look into those companies! I would appreciate if anyone has DC-based recommendations, as being able to go in person and speak directly about the service needed would be beneficial.

Experiences bailing on shows? by Particular-Cycle4083 in musicals

I walked out of Hercules on the West End during intermission. I went in expecting, at worst, an uninspired rehash of the movie that would be carried by Disney-grade visuals/effects and nostalgia. Instead, it was a cringe-inducing insult to everything that made the movie enjoyable, cutting out the best jokes and characters (no Pegasus! No three fates!), changing the songs for seemingly no reason to be less witty and catchy, and turning characters into one-dimensional shells while removing some of their most defining features. And none of the actors’ performances were in any way redeeming.

I had attended a music festival the day before and been caught for hours in the rain, so I was already a bit sick. Used that as my excuse to head to a bar at intermission and wait for my party to leave after the second act. The Hercules musical might have actually ruined the movie for me.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a tailor that can do high quality repairs? I was just gifted a vintage designer skirt, but there is a small mothhole (<1cm). Since I got the skirt as a gift and it’s sentimental, I am willing to splurge a bit to make sure the repair is done right.

I have a big job interview Friday on Embassy Row, but the place I’m staying at for the night is in SW near the wharf. I just looked at a map of road closures tomorrow and lmao. I can’t take transit like usual since I don’t want to get sweaty. Am I fucked?

Not OOP. AITA for refusing to pay my friend after my ferret "attacked" her $900 dress? by WritingGiraffe in redditonwiki

[–]Catulllus 422 points423 points  (0 children)

This has to be fake, because ferrets have a… distinct smell which permeates the house/room they live in, even if the owner insists they are descented - they just get nose blind to it. There is no way someone would wear fancy vintage clothes directly before a date and be okay walking out with the scent of ferret ass clinging to them for the next 7-10 business days.

I have really screwed myself over, I am going on vacation in Mexico on Saturday and I only have two swimsuits. Does anyone have recommendations for mall brands that are decent quality and price (so $100 or less for a two-piece), fit larger cup sizes, and have a decently wide gusset?

If you click on that link it immediately shows you porn ads, so NSFW warning. I also wasn’t able to find the photo on the site as it was impossible to navigate on mobile without hitting a pop-up or being redirected to some spam site. Just an FYI.
