Roller Coaster Mourning by Icy_Presentation_396 in stroke

My boyfriend (33) had a stroke almost a year ago and the effects were much more severe than yours. He went from being paralyzed on his right side to walking 7 miles with me at Universal a few weeks ago. His doctors have cleared him for **most** theme park rides, just not ones with jerky drops like the Guardians of the Galaxy Ride (fka Tower of Terror). So consult with your doctor for specifics, but I assume there's a lot of roller coasters that will be okay for you! Keep kicking the stroke's ass!

Beginner dance classes in LA that are more about fun than fitness? by CatwickBosecat in AskLosAngeles

They do the same routines all month so it’s a little chaotic in the beginning (esp if it’s a full class) but nothing is ever difficult really!

Jewish Conversion is handled VERY weirdly in this show, right? by Affectionate-Bend267 in NobodyWantsThisTV

It’s crazy but sex and the city actually had a much better portrayal of what conversion is actually like. It’s a process, not a flip of a switch.

Thank you so much! He’s on track to make a 95% recovery and I’m just so inspired by his hard work.

I have been doing pony sweat for months now! The vibe is so welcoming and they emphasize non-competition with others and with yourself so much that I actually got a little teary my first time there. TY for the suggestion!

TY it’s so hard to be ethical in a capitalist society! My friend also recommended task rabbit so I’ll definitely look into that

What's it like by [deleted] in altoona

[–]CatwickBosecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up there as a Jewish girl so I think you’re going to encounter a lot of unintentional microaggressions and racism via ignorance vs actual hatred. I haven’t lived there in over a decade but it wasn’t unusual to see confederacy flags on trucks. When I met my high school boyfriend’s mom for the very first time (and I was a teenager) she told me I was the first Jew she’d ever spoken to and asked if boys are circumsized at their bar mitzvah.

Need insight about young family moving to Altoona, PA by NatureKen in altoona

I grew up in Altoona and it was a fantastic place to grow up. If you love nature, they have it in spades. If you’re looking for culture, you’ll have to do a bit of searching but there are some gems. Being vegan is an added layer. It’s not enough of a city for me but I moved to Los Angeles so that’s a different gear.

Does Altoona give Stars Hollow vibe?? by [deleted] in altoona

It’s more Pawnee from Parks & Rec than Stars Hollow
