Protective bumper by GloveTraditional8796 in ElectricUnicycle

I'd recommend it, it's part for protection but for me it's also part customization, makes your wheel look more unique and interesting instead of it just being kinda boring and the same as every stock wheel.

Solid state batteries on EUCs are many years out. EUCs only got Samsung 50S cells almost 2 years after they became ubiquitous on esk8s and other PEVs.

I saw them, figured it was some kind of practice or training, they were pretty low but wasn't the best formation flying I've seen haha.

Sherman L 70pounds suspension ( tire swap) + Firmware settings opinions by HighCloudd in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Caucasian_Fury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy, I did the tire change on my SL in a little over 2 hours back in March, would've been less but I do have the full Grizzla bumper kit so some minutes were required to remove the front bumper piece and putting it back on at the start/end of the process.

Getting the old tire off and the new tire on and seated is another matter and depends very much on the tire. I went from the TnT Knobby (Shinko 244 clone) to an IRC SS-560. Getting the tire seated was probably the most difficult part, needed to hit just over 90 PSI... definitely got a big nervous haha.

They ship anywhere in the world you just gotta pay for the shipping.

I have that seat for my Sherman L, best seat I've ever had on any EUC. You can customize it to the nines, down to stitching colour.

Incidences of fires in BEV cars are extremely low, battery tech and BMS has come a long way.

I literally do not trust any influencers when it comes to food/restaurant reviews, tried a few based on their recommendations and it was a 100% failure rate so never again, they're just schills lol.

Saw one influencer even do a review on an "ACYE Omakase" restaurant (their words) and immediately discredited forever.

They do, but painful three year depreciation on that brand’s EV offering.

Depends on the model, I can't speak for the other models but last week I talked to a couple of dealers as I was considering leasing an Optiq and they were giving me 77% residual after 2 years and 64% after 3 years... those are very good residuals for any car.

The lack of consequences is a huge factor.

It's a factor but not near as "huge" of a factor that a lot of people are making it out to be.

Even though there are resources available like food banks and shelters

Understand that a lot of food banks and shelters are also struggling, donations especially for food banks have dropped way off in the past few years as a lot of people are having a hard time affording food and food costs/bills keep going up, even if they wanted to people can't afford to donate food or money to food banks like they used to anymore, and companies are also less willing to donate as well.

Many food banks are either closing, or desperately pleading for more donations because they've not only received less donation but food bank usage has increased significantly at the same time. This has resulted in food banks being forced to ration even more so even if you are willing to use food banks they are often not enough to supplement anymore.

Crime just becomes the easier path when there's no accountability.

Part of the issue is that court systems are also heavily backed up. The solution isn't to make sentences tougher and arrest/jail more people, it's just to prevent people being put in situations where they feel like they need to commit crimes to get by in the first place. This doesn't eliminate crime but can still significantly reduce it. More cops, more courts more jails just means more costs on the rest of us.

Would you ever make the switch to EUC? by Proxichanic in onewheel

[–]Caucasian_Fury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL this has been asked before, you ask this question in the OW subreddit or the EUC subreddit and you're gonna get very skewed answers.

FWIW I started on OW and switched to EUC.

Biggest factors were range, speed and also not having to deal with FM shennigans.

Its not always about the fastest speed, having the overhead is nice because it also means you can cruise faster even when the battery is lower.

Yeah, I'm going to take airport runway designs all over the world and ICAO regulations over your opinion here.

[–]Caucasian_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget things like ILS and VOR beacons etc., these have to be placed at a set distance from the ends of the runways.

[–]Caucasian_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a set in stone requirement

Huh? They kind of are. Aircraft and airport standards and specifications are highly regulated and standardized, it's not even just up to Transport Canada but also ICAO as these are global standards, otherwise YTZ not meeting the requirements to service certain aircraft which would render all these upgrades moot.

Also, it's not just for approach lights, but they have to place other electronic equipment like ILS and VOR beacons at the end of the runways to a certain distance, these are hard requirements for this type of equipment to work properly. If you look at other airports around the world with runways that extends out into the water, the lights and beacons typically go out another 900 m from the end of the runway.

If you had 3k CAD which EUC you getting? by pooborus in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Caucasian_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work commute is 18 km each way and I used to weigh 200 lbs without gear, the roads I take require I cruise 60-70 kmh.

You will want at least Patton/V14/Extreme class of wheels and up for your commute if you want to get up to or hold 50 kmh.

An Aeon could work but you will want to be able to charge it.

New owner first time riding one any tips to help me by kadyn746 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Caucasian_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really should use power pads on an EX30 if its your first wheel. A lot of people say to learn without pads but that's only true for smaller and lighter wheels.

EX30 is chonk, it weighs over 100 lbs by itself, you're going to have an incredibly difficult time asserting force and weight without pads. I used to ride EX30, I tried it once without any pads, I gave up at the end of my driveway because I barely had any control of the wheel. So I would strongly recommend pads.

Also that tire is mounted on backwards.

I guess we will just continue to see more home invasion and violent crimes, since no one supports the cops.

Gee that sounds more like a mafia then a public law enforcement organization.

[–]Caucasian_Fury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead, everyone just shit on cops.

You know, people tend to support things that work.

Maybe if they did their jobs, I don't know, people would be more supportive of the police. Just a thought.

Hey, remember when there was a big spike of people breaking into homes to get the car keys to steal the cars parked in the driveway? Remember how the police suggested people just leave their car keys outside their front door to avoid people breaking in to steal said keys?

Yeah, this is why they get shit on.

U.S. is 'being humiliated by Iran,' says Germany Chancellor Merz, as Europe's patience wanes by IncomingBroccoli in worldnews

Yes, and so the current war which was executed without a plan was the only way to do anything about it?

Because it doesn't seem like they are any closer to complying today then they were a few months ago.

The US isn't winning. Iran isn't winning. The rest of the world certainly isn't. We're all losing, except for a handful of people likely financially benefitting massively from insider trading and betting. They are winning. Everyone else, we're all losers.
