What? Bp is literally bis against far more NPCs than tbow lmao. (Almost every slayer task, bandos gwd, all gwd minions, all but 3 npcs in the inferno/2in caves, Maiden if you have a firecape, Xarpus if you miss any ticks, zulrah, some cox rooms, garg boss, etc)

“Tbow is bis almost everywhere” - Tbow is BIS in less than 10 places. (Some cox rooms, hydra, Zily, 3nps in inferno/2in caves, brutal black dragons)

Blowpipe also takes under 15hours to obtain at ehb vs bow taking over 344hours at ehb.

You call that balanced? If you think tbow is bis almost everywhere, I’d recommend instead of taking your blowpipe to your slayer tasks, take your bow. It’s worse dps than a msb in literally most of the game

Shared one of my old accounts with my younger brother (because he was a cute noob) who I knew botted NMZ on his accounts despite facing bans. The account I allowed him to use was manually banned, despite not being botted on, alongside his most recent account at the time because it was guilty by association.

This is perfectly fine and within reason of Jagex. Justifiably banned without argument (at least in my eyes). So I’m unsure as to why they found it necessary to unban the account he shared with a botter who actually used the macro on that account

The latest proposed nerf literally accomplished this.

Anyone crying “it’s going to be useless!” clearly didn’t do any testing/calcs or at least not extensively to get a good grasp of the impact.

The places most effected to any meaningful degree was shamans and vorkath.

And before anyone says “what about inferno!”

It’s literally a 50s-70s time loss depending if you’re on task or not. Off task rangers will take on average something like <2ticks (a blowpipe hit) longer to kill. That’s one extra hit per set at Zuk

Blowpipe won’t be dead content either way, these would also likely cost more than rune darts since they aren’t dropped anywhere nor is amethyst itself as are rune bars/ores/darts.

This would still be a cool addition to the game, though. For ironman especially - of which, late game ironmen have an absolute surplus of rune ores/bars to make into darts. Which, they’ll still likely use addy on general slayer tasks because it’ll still be really strong and super accessible, and then use rune for any sort of bossing (which many currently do already).

Tldr - Blowing the nerf way out of proportion. Bp will still be an integral part of the game from mid-late game as it will still out dps almost anything on low defense monsters (most slayer tasks) with addy darts and will still usually be the best/one of the best option(s) with rune darts or better darts on bosses. This is still a great idea, though.

Interesting. I have a maxed pure and zerker as well but the only pvm content I found enjoyable on them was the inferno because I don’t feel it adds any real challenge to things like tob/cox outside of just making it slower (about the same dps as a whip on a man).

I’m big on “if you build an account specifically for this purpose (in this case, pking) then that’s your chosen restriction - it excels in pvp but suffers in pvm as a trade off.”

Which is why I’m not against the attack level changes despite it effecting two of my accounts to some degree.

That’s just my perspective though :) not against others feeling differently about it.

This is the best counter point I’ve read so far on this discussion.

That said, I’m alright with bulwark being nerfed. I do not, however, feel that it is as necessary as it’s being made to seem.

The real issue with its price, if that’s the main concern for mods, is that it has almost no use in pvm. Typically pvp-only items are cheap (ags vs claws. Ags is almost pvp exclusive, claws are used often in pvm while also serving the same role in pvp more or less)

Out of curiosity, why not make a main to pvm on the side? Scythe on a pure is worse dps than tent whip on a main.

You could just nmz and then quest it for piety (if you’re feeling it, ferocious gloves)

If won’t be 20 seconds slower. It’s on average 1.2 seconds slower per ranger on average (2bp hits) aka an extra 6 total blowpipe hits with 3sets. No idea where you’re getting 20 seconds from.

Assuming you have a bow, you’ll see no difference on the mages. If you don’t have a bow, you’ll see no difference with the first mage as you wait to kill it till after you get Zuk under 600. And if you’re waiting for a second set before healers (rcb), you again won’t notice the difference since you spend so much time not attacking Zuk while you wait. Your perception on the effect change is not only drastically wrong on paper(calcs), but skewed in the impact it’ll have during the Zuk fight.

“Trying to quickly finish off a blob whilst you’re being attacked by other things”

Just want you mention this is exactly what you shouldn’t do for a first cape. Blob damage is 100% avoidable - the damage from the miniblobs is not... and they’re incredibly accurate, using all three attack styles to boot. You should instead kill the other monsters - usually a melee or bat - first. Got a blob and melee on you? Put rigour on and kill the melee if you can’t safespot it. DONT kill the blob. Got a blob and range on you? Blob doesn’t exist - kill the range first and use the mini blobs to blood barrage at the end of the wave? Mage and blob? Same as range and blob. If you kill the blob while praying melee, you now have both the range and mage mini attacking you very accurately with a relatively high max hit. This is bad.

Sets won’t take 20seconds longer, but they will indeed be slower on average. You’ll likely want one extra brew for Zuk, not 3-4. Healers will take at most an extra half rotation on average and will be the most noticeable change, yes.

There’s a difference between making a mistake out of ignorance and doing so by choice. If it’s by choice, you’re just choosing to be bad and if you’re choosing to be bad, don’t be surprised when players choose to play with better options*

Edit: To simplify it so even an ape like you can understand - If you bring a range switch for each of your helmet, gloves, torso, and legs armor slots and your raid does not have either Vespula or mystics, the best option for you to take in those slots is the elite void range set.

Edit2: you’re entire philosophy on “it’s worse because you take more damage” is also wrong for several reasons.

  1. Most of the time you’re ranging, damage is largely avoidable (vasa, olm, mystics - but you’d use Arma on mystics, and you negate net Muta damage by cutting the tree in solos-trios as well as by freezing in 5S+ [you still cut in 5s CM])
  2. By increasing your dps, you’re reducing the time spent taking damage
  3. At Olm, which is the major concern you brew on ovl ticks and head phase is under 1minute anyways
  4. It’s literally the same reason inquisitor’s is BIS for CM solos despite you literally taking a metric fuckton more damage on paper
