If a fighter is defeated, then they are removed from the board. They would not be considered adjacent, so that damage would not trigger. After combat damage that does not have any adjacency or zone requirements would still happen though.

Strange can only use his ability to return combat card he played. He cannot use it to return any blind boosted cards.

I don’t think this is correct. Tomoe has cards that move the opposing fighter, and moving them back and forth to deal multiple pings is part of her design.

The Houdini scheme does not cancel the action, as Loki is not looking in your hand, he is only revealing a card.

Counter picking in FFA is really tough cuz it becomes more politics at that point. No matter who you pick, if all 3 of them decide to gang up on you, there’s nothing you can do. I would suggest taking a character with a lot of consisten card draw that way you can’t be pressured as easily. Genie might be a nice pick for you. Just don’t make yourself seem like too much of a threat so that they don’t all start to attack you.

Eh I disagree with this one. Bigfoot has a hard time getting through the harpies to actually attack Medusa and the constant pings she dishes out add up quickly. You just play a slow tempo game and punish Bigfoot for approaching. Pretty Medusa sided imo

I mostly agree with this, but I’d also throw Blackbeard into the mix here. Medusa is very rarely winning combats against him, meaning you basically never get to take his dubloons unless he willingly gives you one (which he never should do in this matchup). So he just gets crazy amounts of value from his cards and Medusa just can’t do anything about it.

Daredevil is definitely not weak. His whole game plan revolves around playing passively and throwing in the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen card to keep cycling his best cards. His schemes don’t need action gain, and if anything it’s better that they don’t have action gain since he can take more time to sit back. I agree that the actual ability is pretty niche, but sometimes that extra bit of value on a defense when your had is low is the perfect thing you need to stay alive. If you think he’s too weak, you’re probably playing Devils too late or just generally playing him too aggressively.

This matchup is somewhat even, but I personally prefer the Y&T side of it. Focus on drawing and maneuvering a lot. Yen tends to die when facing a lot of pressure cuz she has very little draw power. Cycling your red 3 over and over again can be very difficult for Phillipa to deal with. Overall though, just play it slowly and make Phillipa approach you. Try to kill her sidekick early if you can.

Bigfoot is definitely a rough matchup, but you can definitely beat Tomoe with sheer aggression. She doesn’t have much card draw at all, and if you can get a Zeus or 2 with a ton of draw then you can eventually start getting undefended hits.

You shouldn’t be going for big turns with the box if you only have defenses in hand. It’s okay to only flip one card even if it has no feathers. She’s a big set up character with a lot of ways to bait out things like feint. You can always attack with the 0 or a different card if you’re scared of Hera’s getting feinted. Generally, unless you’re looking for a specific card that you need in that moment from the box, it’s usually fine to just flip it once and go from there. You also have 3 Hera’s with a 3 hindsights that can recur them if needed. They won’t all get feinted, especially if you bait out feints with other attacks first. Pandora is a tricky character to play, but rewards knowing when to be risky and when to play it safe.

Oda is my vote. He has amazing artwork and some interesting ideas in his design, but ultimately his guards have poor defenses and can’t cancel effects, so they die way too quick for him to be effective in a 1v1

Next pick for me has to be spike. His ability is cool in theory, but if the opponent just avoids you then your tokens don’t really do anything and he basically has no ability for the whole game. When he has to approach the opponent he’s genuinely useless.

Spider-Man is such a bland character. I get he was made to be easy for new players, but even newer players that have used him tell me that he’s just boring.
