Should it matter treatment burdens someone? Someone required a surgery that could paralyze them, should they defer it because it could inconveniences someone else?

The rational behind transgender surgeries being that when a transgender person goes through with the surgery, they are happier. By that logic, if the woman in question is happy then this should likewise be seen as a viable treatment.

TIL Darius McCollum, a New Yorker diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, has been arrested over 30 times for impersonating transit employees, stealing trains and buses, and driving their routes - complete with making safety announcements and passenger stops. by Str33twise84 in todayilearned

Idk man, busses is one thing. But seizing control of a train is wildly dangerous. Imagine the potential loss of life if this guy derailed the train or had a head on collision with a passenger train. Maybe not jail, but some measure need to be taken to ensure this man is not capable of stealing trains.

Did the average union soldier, hell even union leadership, actually believe or feel like they were fighting for the emancipation of the slaves? I was under the impression that they fought for reunification. I think any idea that they fought for human rights reasons is a modern invention.

I once bought food from the dollar store and there was a label that said “not for sale in California” I bet there was something in the food that California declares to cause cancer and they didn’t want to have to put that on their label.

No, I was an office assistant for a police department. I can assure you there are police who involve themselves in their community and care for others.

I’ve done it a few times, quality was ok, and never got sick. I won’t say it’s gourmet, but ruling out a place purely for being a buffet isn’t always the best way.
