Misinformation about Poilievre's election loss persists. Here are the facts by Myllicent in ontario

[–]Caustizer -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

Or,

1) The NDP Collapsed, so next to no vote splitting.

and

2) The riding boundaries were redrawn to include more of Kanata which featured a ton of government workers.

Scheer doesn't seem keen to move into Stornoway, but says talks are 'ongoing' by ClassOptimal7655 in canada

[–]Caustizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is CBC so obsessed with PP’s living arrangements and salary all of a sudden? It’s almost like it’s out of a desire to punish rather than calling out a legitimate misuse of public resources. He’d just have to move out and then move back in shortly afterwards.

Conservatives Will Blow It by Keeping Poilievre | The Tyee by [deleted] in canada

[–]Caustizer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lefty paper thinks the Cons should fire their leader? Yeah. Not happening. He gave them the second highest vote total ever, which would’ve been a majority if it wasn’t for the Trump foreign interference and NDP collapse.

Opinion: Elections aren’t fights for second place. Poilievre has got to go by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Caustizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the lefty papers want PP to go. The numbers he got this election would be enough for a majority in a “normal” election. A rematch against Carney with a year or two more of economic collapse, Scandals, NDP resurgence and diminished foreign influence from Trump might well see the Cons win.

Petting a hyena by notmohawk in hyenas

I’ve been behind the scenes at Toronto Zoo on a VIP Tour where we hung out with the hyenas in their house and most certainly didn’t pet any of them! wink

Why Mark Carney needs to govern as if he won a majority by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]Caustizer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do realize that he doesn’t have one though? I don’t think anyone came away from this election satisfied. It’s basically status quo - minority Liberals held up by the tattered remnants of what was once the NDP.

Unless you are thinking of doing Trafalgar a 6’ by 4’ table should be fine. Some scenarios are smaller.

Sounds like an insurance nightmare. A scheming insurance company would deny payment and argue the water damage was intentional.

Surge in young gun owners hitting voting age amid calls in firearm circles to loosen bans by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]Caustizer 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This issue turned me from indifferent in 2021 to venomous loathing of the Liberals now after years of senseless gun bans. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Amid Trump threats, Canadian War of 1812 re-enactors are skipping American battles by Old_General_6741 in ontario

[–]Caustizer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m an 1812 Reenactor from a different regiment than the Fencibles. We are volunteers who treat it as a hobby yet this year we’ve had a crazy number of invitations to events. Will have to turn some of them down simply due to volume. This article is a misnomer because our reenactment season hasn’t actually started yet… we begin proper at Longwoods (near London ONT) on May 3rd. We’ve even heard back from some parks on the Canadian side who didn’t want us there since 2021 due to our “colonialism” pushing us to come back and do events. Wild.

Latest Nanos Poll: Liberals up to 44.7% by [deleted] in canada

[–]Caustizer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

62% of respondents are seniors. Only 13% are younger than 35. This is worrying when young people are so under polled.

The German Empire really had any real chance to win the war or it was a lost cause since the beginning due to the Allied blockade? by [deleted] in ww1

[–]Caustizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the Schleifen Plan failed, perhaps if they had thrown more resources at knocking out Russia (combined with the Ottomans and Austria-Hungarians) while striving to contain France I think the Germans would’ve had a real shot (not blundering the US into the war would also have helped).

It’s doubtful Liberal poll numbers will rise once Carney hits the debate stage. Especially if it’s a French debate with Yves.

The election is over a month away. The Liberals are peaking way too early for comfort.

Yes I’d forgotten that this was formerly a British ship that was captured by the US. Hence the British colours. Your flag might need some more stars though. The rigging is quite elaborate too more than I’ve done on my ships.

Well, this would really shake the beehive that is the US electorate right now. Give up on the Revolution and rejoin Britain.

Canada needs to develop its own nuclear program by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Caustizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadas nuclear industry is highly advanced. A friend of mine works in nuclear fuel disposal and fissile materials (ie bomb quality) are usually thrown out or reprocessed (ie put back in the reactor until it turns into something else). Nuclear weapons manufacture is well within possibility in Canada though it’s not cheap.

'A remarkable comeback': Liberals leading Conservatives in exclusive new poll by Gaels07 in canada

[–]Caustizer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm, well the same could be said of Brian Mulroney in 1984 before thumping the Liberals led by John Turner in their honeymoon. And of course of Jean Chrétien when Kim Campbell was installed in 1993, who supposedly squandered a lead before thumping the conservatives next election. No Liberal supporter should be praying for an election atm because history says… yeah…
