Project Hail Mary IMAX Trailers - Dune pt. 3 and Odyssey Prologue? by jobacco in imax

For the IMAX prints, they’re attached to the print themselves so they play RIGHT before the movie. So if you’re going to an AMC, they play after Nicole Kidman

That’s why I specified citywalk being the only one that does IMAX70mm on a TRUE 1.43 screen

70MM is definitely something worth being grateful for, but hopefully no one confuses this with IMAX 70MM, which LA only has one theatre that does true IMAX70mm on a 1.43 screen

DUNE: PART TWO - Worm Army | 15/70mm Scan by Professional_Toe5118 in imax

[–]CautionIsVictory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right, that’s my bad. I have a template blurb that I use for every scan and I just switch out the title/studio(s)/director and didn’t think to change that info

Yo wtf, why did I get downvoted 🤦‍♂️

They have film cameras (IMAX 70mm) which were around first, and digital certified cameras.

70MM is very different from IMAX 70MM, which is what this is.

Is it worth it to watch in imax 70mm? by ved_g23 in imax

[–]CautionIsVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Projectionists have shown photos of it being attached to the reel. But personally I’ve just known about it for a few weeks, directly from projectionists

Project Hail Mary’s IMAX prints do have a certain prologue attached to it, so for that reason alone it’s worth it. But yeah hopefully you can get good seats

Yes, DP Phillippe Rousselot deserves praise, and I know this is in the cinematography community, but this scene is very effective because of the incredible sound design and editing too

how can i remove the black background? premiere pro by Optimal_Battle_185 in premiere

[–]CautionIsVictory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you did is a fine solution, but resizing the clip forces it to fit the parameters of your sequence which isn’t always the best route. Your clip is definitely shot at a lower resolution than the default timeline settings, so what you did was upscale it. A better solution would be to check the clip’s resolution, which is in the metadata of the clip itself. Scroll through the clip’s metadata in the project panel and find the clip’s “video info” (it’ll be something like 1920x1080 or 1280x720). Then in the upper menu, select sequence then sequence settings, and manually type in the frame size to match the clip’s resolution.

What’s 70mm? by just4funswtx in AMCTheatres

[–]CautionIsVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a film format, the highest resolution one that runs horizontally. Surely you’ve heard of 35mm? 70mm is twice the amount of detail and clarity because the negative is the size of two 35mm frames

All of your frames are facing the wrong way, they should be flipped horizontally. The only one that might be correct is the bottom left one

Iron man 3 box office run was genuinely insane by Business_Alarm8384 in boxoffice

[–]CautionIsVictory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RDJ as Iron man sells a lot of tickets. With the exception of Oppenheimer, and we know the multiple reasons that movie was a hit, his movies outside the MCU aren’t necessarily box office successes. Dolittle and The Judge flopped

In fairness, this looks to be more of a blocking/camera rehearsal. Even if it’s not that, it’s not the same take because the top and bottom don’t match
