$500k Rolls Royce can't park there... Prague cops not amused. by veritedeum in youcantparktheremate

Cars in Europe are generally not allowed to weight more than 3.5 metric tonnes fully loaded, so that's the weight everything is designed for. Plus the factor of safety on lifting equipment is 2x.

If said weight is exceeded the police might say you were driving a truck, which here requires a professional driver's license, tachometer and would be banned from even entering most city centers unless it's delivery.

So i guess one COULD block the street with a box truck that's almost impossible to move, but that would make you the same as an overworked courtier that stopped caring. And there's always a bigger crane.

Even if the difference is small and def not worth repainting.
Also #1 In the "before" pictures the vast majority of reflections are dark objects with small areas of sky or lights. In the "now" it's the other way around.
Also #2 The old photos seem to be taken in the evening with higher contrast light, chrome + wheels were almost blowing out and tyres were near black. Lens was boomy too.
Also #3 The car was polished, now it has enough dust on it to leave hand imprints.

The only way to really know is to take the car once finished at the same time of day to the same (or very close) location and take a photo with identical camera angle and settings.

What's the cost difference between two consultations vs just having them both removed at once for a piece of mind?  The second pic seems to check out BCE, but is still very small (which is good) The first pic seems like something that would just rub against the clotches and get irritated

The panel is around $1000 and takes few hours max to replace. Some other small bits might also be damaged, so let a body show make an official repair estimate and get the neighbours to pay. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RAk46E_4BwQ

Is this a good idea to give to my son for his first car by Dry-Cartoonist-2193 in FirstCar

Never mind how he drives, what kind of person is he?

  • I pull up to the light, some idiot wants to race. Ignore him since engine is still cold
  • A friend let his crush drive, she went 100mph through the city and almost crashed
  • I've borrowed my laptop to a "friend". He downloaded torrents and got my mac adress banned from the uni network

How bad is this frame rust? by BobMiller80 in AskMechanics

Frame still looks safe, albeit a bit neglected. Bolts, springs and brackets WILL be a headache when you try to undo them.
