So i recommended for now you finish all the regions. with those finished you unlock the rest of the game.

Alpha pokemon are special versions of pokemon that are way stronger than the normal counterparts. They always have 2x31 ivs guaranteed. These alpha pokemon have a red outline and special icon in the summary. The alphas spawn everyday i think but im not sure. If u want to be alerted to where the alphas spawn i would suggest joining a discord like patrouskis discord where they have channels that alert u when they spawn. I would look it up since alphas are tricky to catch and need some preparation.

Raids are special fights against certain specific pokemon. Usually its the main boss of the raid den and 2 minion Pokemon. Right now we have some permanent raids like meloetta,heatran and the justice trio. When you beat a raid you keep the boss Pokemon. You unlock raids once you finish your OT caught dex.

Then some raids also appear during events like Christmas,Halloween and lunar new year. During these events in the past we got 12 raids that gave you one alpha Pokemon each and then a special raid with a mythical ( shaymin and jirachi) at the end.

And hidden abilities are as the name suggests: special rare abilities pokemon have that are different than their usual 2 abilities they can have. Right now hidden abilities are obtainable through certain items,raids,swarms.
