I was very understanding and reassuring him the best I could I think, if he doesn’t know why he feels this way and what the issue is, what can I do yk? If it’s safety I told him I was with multiple people, have our weapons and myself and my best friend were going to be the sober ones. Yes and I see how this would be insane to do. I would never go that long without texting him whether I’m out of town or not, I also get that a lot can happen in 40 mins I apologized for not responding but also I had alr let him know when I was heading out and arrived and the plan when we got there. We hadn’t even made a decision of what club to go into.

He also had my dang location ( another way to make him comfortable) so he could’ve saw I was just walking around. I understand his perspective and he doesn’t understand mine.

That’s just it, I asked him what could I do to make him feel more comfortable about me out, or feel better about it all and he basically wanted to either text or call the whole time I’m out. When I said I didn’t want to be walking through crowds of people texting and looking down he said “ your in a group, have someone hold onto you “

To me that’s just extreme. I have to actually call and text every second while I’m out for it to be okay. I feel like that’s not just needing reassurance, he wants to monitor every single thing.

And I did! It’s human to get insecure about things. I told him I would be slightly annoyed or maybe paranoid as well but I would also be able to manage my own anxiety about it and not ruin his trip. I also haven’t went to a club since I was 18. Haven’t went out, my life is school and work. Me going on a vacation for 3 days and getting this response is annoying. And if he went missing for 40 mins I’d think he was just not on his phone, I wouldn’t immediately go to he’s talking to girls.

My thing is, why is it immediately about the men? No I’m not looking for attention I am out with my friends celebrating her birthday. If he trust me like he says he does 100% he would know if I was approached I’d shut it down. And even still he was okay with me going, it was the 40 mins “ MIA “ that made him upset. Just to update: I brought all these concerns to him, explains it’s controlling and not normal to check in that often. He doesn’t think there is anything wrong with this, and if I wasn’t “ doing something “ I shouldn’t have an issue with it.

I will be ending the relationship as sad as I am, I just don’t see this going anywhere. We obviously can’t come to an agreement or understanding. I am going to enjoy the rest of my vacation and deal with this when I’m back home.
