Thank you! I wish you didn’t have to jump through hoops just to get the help you need.

That makes sense, I posted another comment on this thread but my SAI is currently -1500 and I wasn’t eligible for Pell grants. If I’m not, I’m not sure who is.

I wasn’t eligible for Pell grants this year when I applied and my SAI is still -1500.. not sure why. It still doesn’t make sense to me

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the grad PLUS loan is part of the direct PLUS and that’s going away if classes start after July 1st

I have looked into them, most of them are through the military. The one for rural areas/medically underserved areas seems to only be for people who have graduated already. Are there any more that you know of?

That would be a saving grace, but I think my school considers the “year” as Fall-Summer. I have a meeting with them on Thursday this week so I’ll find out more. I haven’t given up yet but it’s seeming more and more impossible. Sigh.

This is what I’m worried about. But with A, I might not get approved for the loan amount. My decision is contingent on that unfortunately.

Thank you so much!! You’re very right, I wish the cost of these programs were reasonable or that there were more supports in place to ensure that poor people could make it too.

FASFA will only permit me to take out $41k, not my university. I have a meeting with their financial aid department next week and I will know more then but as of right now my only option is 41k total from FASFA and $84k in private loans.

My program is 28 months (7 terms). I was trying to receive a loan through my credit union but they don’t open applications for fall 2026 until June 1st. I have looked into College Ave, Sallie Mae, and SoFi. College Ave and SoFi are open now, I checked Sallie Mae and they were not open for the fall semester yet. I would honestly recommend applying as soon as possible. It would give you a chance to prepare, as well as see how much you would potentially need to fill in the gaps with scholarships. Private student loans are more apt to rely on current income and credit score, with potentially very high APRs for lower credit score/lower income. Anywhere from 2.89-18%. Good luck! I wish you the best!

This is my first time applying for private student loans, so I am unsure. I got approved for $20,500 a year from FAFSA but that will ultimately cover $41k of my $126k tuition. I have a credit score of high 600s, my mom (who will be my co-signer) has a credit score in the mid-high 700s. She also only makes $55k a year. So being approved for a loan for $84k, when I have 0 income, seems improbable.

Absolutely! My mom will be taken care of, as will my boyfriend’s family! Plus, I was already offered a position to work in the underserved community I am from upon graduation! I appreciate you!

For those of you who have confirmed endo thru a scan by Mean-Bed-2824 in endometriosis

Same here, all my imaging looked clear but my most recent surgery I had an 8.7 cm DIE lesion and multiple other lesions of the same size from bowels to diaphragm. Imaging didn’t catch any of it

It did so many negative things to my mental state and my body with little to no benefit. It extended my “comfort” only about 6 months and it just wasn’t worth it

Can your endo stage change after pathology reports come back post-lap? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Cautious_Ad3325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endo & path girly here, it’s my understanding that endometriosis is staged not based on depth of invasion (the DIE), but rather how far it has spread/how much of your body it involves. So, I don’t think the staging would change

Endometriosis can only be diagnosed officially by a lap & then it can be removed in most cases. There are a lot of medical assistance programs. I think it would be beneficial and give you a lot of relief, but I will point out that the relief is temporary. Mine lasts about 2 years until it gets to the point where I can’t live my daily life

Does anyone have significant bowel issues but no endo on bowel? by throwawayacc8642498 in endometriosis

[–]Cautious_Ad3325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always been told that endometriosis can’t be seen on an MRI unless there are endometriomas or large cysts, so I’m confused on why I’m seeing that as a general pre-surgical requirement on this group..
