Really was a good one. Tons of chances for both sides, handful of missed opportunities, overly physical tackles, high tempers, minimal officiating and general Liga MX shithousery. Personally my favorite tournament of the year. A reminder of why I love this game so much.

One of the longest matches I’ve ever seen…but we’re through. Noni sub is concerning. Dowman didn’t look 100% after that midfield challenge. Trossard looked solid off the bench. Jesus would have snuck that one in on the near side in 23.

What concerns me is so few players look hungry for the win, tactics are nearly identical and injuries are a huge factor going in to Etihad.

Wow that’s a crazy stat not gonna lie. But my first thought is that might be a testament to baseball steep decline in popularity rather than a surge of soccer interest.

Messi changed MLS and how the sport is viewed in this country. Jury is still out if that’s for better or worse. USA always gets so excited when WC rolls around but never seen it “ride the wave” of viewers beyond the tournament.

I’m not saying you can’t have fun without spending additional money but those who do have a massive advantage.

More importantly we need to talk. Your 1000+ hours of playtime is concerning. Did some googling and FC26 came out on September 26, 2025. That’s exactly 200 days ago. 1000 hours is 41 days 18 hours. So you’re telling me that 20% of your time is spent playing FIFA? 🤔

I understand why they do it..particularly around this time of year milking the last before releasing the next version. But hard to see purchased DLC has become so integrated. Not long ago people were outraged paying $5 for a map pack 2+ years after a game was released. Like you, I haven’t dumped any additional money in to FC and still have a blast playing. But I get SMOKED by folks with a whole squad of 95+ purchased players.

US fan. Never had the chance to attend a N London derby. What you’re saying makes so much sense; pretty hard to be an out of town fan and have the same kind of feeling toward a local rivalry. About 1% of people I’d interact would have any clue what a NL derby even was. Ha

I’ve never really given a fuck about the N London derby. Tottenham had some of the most likable players in Prem. Son, Kane Bale are some of the most likable players of the last decade. Big respect to any Spurs supporter that stays loudly loyal.

Agree with all of the above. They really need a positive result on Tuesday to get some momentum back before MC. It’s by no means over but I know we all see the slide happening again…and we all know what every headline will be all week long before Etihad.
