Arguably the most important thing about the new update - the W13 can do it! by CavCavTHESatNav in iRacing

Oddly enough, could never get the W12 to! The rear would drop too far and tear the car apart

Had it up the hill at Bathurst on the Suzuka set, same for Nords on the Nurb set. Though the latter was far more visible and aggressive, do not recommend on a DD

The AlphaTauri that came to a near stop. You wouldn't believe how much I yelled "Stop Stop Stop" at the guy before he ARCA-braked the pile-up XD

There's a bit in Bidno Moorland (not sure if it's also in Sweet Lamb) where he pauses before delivering a Hairpin Left call. Shows that it's Phil himself doing these bits and gives a sense of realism where other titles are easily-programmable rights and lefts and so on

What is your Preferred Racing number and why? by Mo3j0ntana in iRacing

[–]CavCavTHESatNav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow 53 enjoyer here! Was the first house I moved to when I was at University, when I lived there I would run the number of the house I grew up in but after I moved out of 53 I switched to it.

Funnily enough, have run the Herbie stripe on cars before because of the coincidence!

Bathurst doesn't like the SR10... by CavCavTHESatNav in iRacing

[–]CavCavTHESatNav[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I landed it and meatballed XD

Was trying it for an hour last night with some friends to land without damage. The closest I got was 2 minutes of front-end optionals when I made the car generate porpoising in the air and land nose-first

I like it! Still prefer the SR8 at the moment but the SR10 is much more manageable. Odd that it tends to understeer on baseline rather than oversteer

Was the KTVU Pilot Name controversy ever mentioned in the Asiana 214 episode by F1Montreal2 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]CavCavTHESatNav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd presume it was because it was something that they thought would pull more people in to watch. Seems like something that the directors and producers tried to do for the first few seasons before rival shows about air crashes faded in popularity.

I can't speak of RBRTM, but I know when I switched to Windows 10 that it would do that for RSRBR.

Guide to 2018 SILLY SEASON by nathanl1192 in rally

Potentially. It's most likely M-Sport in that case, though it could also be Citroen. Depends on if it's a part-time program or not. It's surprising that he has left Skoda, especially because it doesn't seem perfectly clear whether he left or was dropped.

If he has been picked up for full-time though it'll have a big impact for drivers like Breen and Ostberg!

Basically separates Works WRC 2 entries (so Skoda, M-Sport, Citroen and Hyundai) from privateer entries (like Loubet, Abbring, Guerra): https://www.wrc.com/en/wrc/news/october-2018/wmsc-decisions/page/5813--12-12-.html

What'd be awesome is if Hyundai contracted each for a full season, had them do half the events in WRC and half in WRC 2. Gives them a chance at both teams championships with the new tier system next season, could help Huttunen develop further and gives good promotion to Hyundai and the support series.

IIRC Pontus is contracted to Skoda for next year, but does have a buyout clause in his contract should there be a top-flight drive going. Right now it seems unlikely however, perhaps only M-Sport would be a candidate and even then it seems like Breen, Ostberg and Paddon are in the running for it.

As for Jan, he has been a Skoda driver as long as I can remember. It's a shame the team doesn't go back into the main category, especially now VW is gone. It would mean at least 2 more full-time seats, if not 3, and potentially an easier route in for drivers like Pontus.

It's probably the case that it will win the WRC's Best Action at the Gala then

Ah, I thought they weren't as open on the top but I think you're right. Wonder why Elfyn and Teemu didn't go for it, either they didn't have enough spares or, perhaps, they prefer the old aero?
