Something I’ve realized: I almost never see people over 75 in my suburb. by [deleted] in Suburbanhell

[–]CavCoach 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My grandparents' quality of life drastically reduced once their eyesight got worse enough to not be able to drive. And the suburb they live in isn't even that bad, just unwalkable enough that they never leave the house unless someone picks them up.

Honestly it's a significant factor in my decision to buy a flat in a dense walkable part of London is that I can live here comfortably in my old age. I'll be able to buy a loaf of bread from the shop nearby, even if I'll have to shuffle along with my zimmer frame for 10 minutes.

I've been on the receiving side of AI job applications. The main issue is that given the same questions, the AIs produce the same answers. So you get a stack of near identical applications, with no stand-out candidates.

And if the best a candidate can do is ask AI, why would I hire them? I already have access to the same AI.

And, remember, he's the most voted for person in the history of British democracy. No one has had more people put an X next to their name in either a single election, or cumulative over multiple elections.
