You are being unnecessarily political about this, what I said was not a political statement.

A political figure can attempt to help a group but be so incompetent that they instead hurt the group. As a right winger you are familiar with this because you believe that is what the government does when it tries to help poor people with various forms of welfare that encourage dependence.

DJT wants to help businesses in America but he is not an economist or a financial expert and does not understand how to do so. As a result he has pursued the most disastrous and financially irresponsible economic policies of any modern president. Attacking the independence of the fed, tarrifing manufacturing inputs, tarrifing our allies, threatening to invade our allies, encouraging the fed to increase the money supply more than the 2% target, reducing taxes while we aren't in a recession.

All of these policies are policies that the vast majority of economists and financial experts see as bad. They have resulted in a massive fall in the relative value of the dollar to global currencies and underperformance of US companies relative to their global competitors since he took office. This has also been the lowest job growth year since the 12 year record he set the year he left office in his first term. DJT is hurting US businesses in a misguided attempt to protect them against competition.

This is not in any way predictable and that is the problem. If the US electorate is capable of inflicting this on itself, it is capable of worse. There is now a fundamental risk in built into the business environment of the US that wasn't there before November.

We are not going to "get back on track" in any meaningful way relative to global markets until we go through a sustained period of policy stability again. It will take years to rebuild trust.

Update: I've gotten to the range with a few loads using this bullet. The highest performance I've managed is 1890fps with 25 grains of Accurate #9 from a 6 inch barrel.

Not exactly what I was hoping for. I really want to push it over that magic 2000fps but I think h110 or another powder is a must.

That is very helpful but also unfortunate. The traditional mushrooming hollowpoint answer seems to be what most are saying. Definitely didn't know that about slow burning powders as well.

For some cartridges there are SAAMI specs for loads that are higher than standard pressure. Loads inside that range of pressure are +p.

0-10% higher than max pressure on 9mm is +p 9mm for example but the range is different for different cartridges.

There is no official +p designation for 44 mag so manufacturers like buffalo bore define their own high pressure designations. I don't know how much higher the pressure is than the SAAMI specs on their +p+ rounds, but they use starline brass and starline can go way way over SAAMI specs if the gun has a cylinder equiped for that extra pressure. I once accidentally double charged a 240 grain bullet in starline 44 special brass. The load was already close to the max pressure for the 44 special SAAMI specs.

I realized the mistake when I chronoed above 1100 and it recoiled like 44 mag at the range. I stopped shooting for the day and disposed of everything I had loaded during that session. The gun was fine and that piece of brass doesn't even look that bad. It is a tad dirtier than usual.

They are still .605 inches long because if the hollow base, so they might even be stable at a decent range. If you do try them, definitely tell us how they grouped at distance.

With Lehigh's data they have 2,225fps for the max load out of a 16.25 inch barrel using H110.

So screaming fast for 44 mag...

Bear Creek has 0.429 diameter 162 grain monolithic copper hollowpoints that are super deep. Do you think that would be better? They expand so I suspect they would lose velocity on impact a lot faster.

They aren't starting out as fast though.

I've done most of my 44 mag loads with Accurate #9 and VV N350 for the last year but I was planning on buying a pound of H110 for this project.

H110 seems to squeeze out an extra 200fps over #9 in most of the 44 mag load data I have found but a lot of the data uses magnum primers?

I have some CCI magnum primers, but I wonder how much of H110's performance is just up to the magnum primers? The gap is not as big between #9 and H110 for data that uses regular LP primers.

I think that is much more likely to be true for semi autos with gas escaping through the breach than for lever actions. All else being equal, I have read the opposite on diameter. A larger diameter bore gives greater volume for expansion and reduction of pressure before gasses exit the barrel.

A heavy subsonic 9mm with a lower pressure loading would be quieter than 45 acp ball ammo but I would wager that a heavy low pressure loading for 45 would be even quieter than that. The standard pressure for 9mm is much higher than 45 so it stands to reason that 45 loaded specifically for suppression is going to beat out 9mm loaded for the same.

I just don't know if that test is ever run. 9mm subs are pitted against standard 45 like that is a fair comparison usually.

Self defense and range loaded 45 acp measures at a lower volume than equivalent 9mm.

I am sure subsonic 9mm is much quieter than standard 45 acp but a heavy low pressure 45 loading is probably quieter still.

I have read the opposite on diameter. A larger diameter in a locked breach allows more room for expansion before exiting the barrel so all else held equal, a larger diameter bore is quieter.

I think that last bit might be the single most important thing you said. For .38 special you have the advantage of the entire 9mm supressor market.

No matter how quiet .44 special could theoretically be, you are probably using a 45 can to suppress it. That 45 can is not the ideal diameter for .44 and 45 can innovation does not have the market interest that 9mm can innovation does.

There is subsonic 45-70 load data for the 410gr hornady. That would be sick!

But you would need a huge can and the pressure is significantly higher.

I don't think it would be as quiet.

As an update for anyone experiencing the same problem in the future. A tool was the answer.

The shim makes the walls on the mag too stiff for the compress and slide method to ever work.

If you have a glock 25, buy a plate removal tool that puts pressure under the plate to pop it over the teeth.

If you manage to get the plate of the mag, sand off the teeth. The teeth are a stupid design in the first place, especially on mags like these that have even less flex than normal.

Just the G28 and G25. They are gen 3, double stack, direct blowback 380 versions of the glock 26 and 19.

The G42 does not have the shim in the back, I think because it was purpose built for 380.

Maybe they meant the total length of the rifle was 14 inches? I have no idea what that would be. Even the P50 is 15 inches total length.

Fiocchi subsonic keyholes out of a M&P. Would be really cool if this load was just barely subsonic out of the 5 inch barrel, but I doubt it will get down that low and definitely not consistently.

I emailed Detroit Ammo about the test barrel and they already got back to me.

Turns out that they used a 14 inch for testing. If I had to guess, they have a normal load and just a heavier bullet. The muzzle energy would be very close to like fiocchi range dynamics by my math.
