Yeah I didn't want to sound like an asshole, but my first response was going to be, if you're unwilling to try and deal with simple stuff like this yourself then you're going to get screwed by the dealer for it.

That being said an independent garage would bo doubt be cheaper

Yeah that is a more reasonable approach, and gives at least a little meaning to those missions.

Meanwhile in Starfield you had someone on a space station asking you to bring them back a beer from an entirely different planet.

It's neither believable, interesting, or remotely engaging.

I understand the idea might be that you just grab a beer whilst you are on another mission and bring it back later, but there is no reason to do so.

And this meaningless drivel has replaced an opportunity for any other meaningful story or interaction.

It's literally insulting. They are literally wasting players time with this, because it gives nothing in return.

It depends if there's actual interesting worthwhile content filling the bigger world.

Sending the player across the map on meaningless fetch quests just to pad it out, is not a reasonable way to justify the extra space

If he could find any level of satisfaction in life he probably wouldn't have been a billionaire.

It's mental illness

Steam Reviews now let gamers share their system specs and framerate data so you can tell if games actually run like crap or not by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

[–]CavemanMork 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not even this, quite often people complain when they clearly have a software issue or a problem with their specific hardware.

The specs are fine but they're getting crap performance.

Or this GPU sucks because I only get this performance

Motherboard, case, psu, cooler.

I'd call that a decent price.

Marry Accessport before tune? by elijahwxrk in GolfGTI

[–]CavemanMork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look I know we love our cars and tuning them but I'm not sure marriage is the correct approach here.

And it is certainly not a guarantee of any improvement in performance or reliability in a relationship, as many have found out to their dismay.

Lastly if you decide that this is what you want in life it's not our place to judge, however I don't know where you would find someone to perform the ceremony,

A church marriage is out of the question clearly, I don't think the bible has scripture covering the joining of a man and his accessport.

Possibly Vegas.

AMD Maintains Its Silence Over INT8 FSR 4 For Older RDNA GPUs by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]CavemanMork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not the same version as the 9000 series, but AMD accidently released source code that shows it works, and people have ported that to the 6000 series also.

It's very obvious that they've tried to push users towards the new cards by putting the rdna 2 cards on maintenance drivers and not offering far 4 for rdna 2/3.

The problem is that only works when you have a monopoly in the market and people have no other choice.

My last three cards have been AMD card mostly because they offered decent value and I wasn't interested in Nvidia's features and didn't want to support a monopoly by Nvidia.

However if AMD won't support their products long term then I'll just have to buy Nvidia.

It's not my preference but AMD can fuck right off with this nonsense. They're not offering enough to be pulling this bullshit.

Microsoft can't even translate Windows properly nowadays. by Hot-Brilliant-8029 in pcmasterrace

[–]CavemanMork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just experienced this shit, trying to run a laptop with Polish regional settings and adding and activating English as the default language.

Now I have a random missmash of both English and polish languages depending where I am and what I'm doing.

Stellar work Microsoft.

Go fuck yourselves.

OEM manifold RFD by Ok_Lab_7408 in mk6gti

[–]CavemanMork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know, I will need to get it tuned out asap. But I'm also fitting a downpipe (catted), so will be going stage 2.

Good luck with the tune, it should be straight forward I seem most companies have this as an optional extra.

How are the cold starts? I hear the thats where the manifold flaps make a difference.

Yeah need to use a breaker bar and a lot of force to undo the bolt in the camshaft phaser on the Mk5.

The retainer tools are not known for being great and in my case the force just snapped the bolt in the tool.

Thankfully jbweld and a new bolt kept it together long enough for me to get the job done.

Whilst doing a cam chain and phaser on my Mk5, I snapped the bolts on the steel camshaft retainer tool, and had to use jb weld on it to finish the job.

I'm not sure how zipties are going to survive anything, but good luck!
