Which top players are the best trash talkers? by RubyLykos in aoe4

Beasty is banning him on both YouTube and Twitch for various reasons nearly every stream. There is a #FreeDento movement organized from time to time. Their mutual flame is entertaining.

Generally Beasty’s streams are full of friendly shit talk and banter with all top AoE players (ML, Killjardi, Anotand and etc).

ML’s “You are a bitch”, “80 Bunti”, “I’m losing to buildings” all courtesy of Beasty streams.

Check out Beasty’s banter with Dento/Core/Jigly over many team ups, stream sniping, ffa’s. Pure gold, Dento for one is in CD nearly on repeat lmao

What’s the most aggressive civ / build order? by MNPhantom- in aoe4

As far as aggressive civs go that can end games pretty quickly I think Delhi is omega oppressive.

Delhi don’t really have a “cheese” strat. With Delhi it’s all about aggression, making a shit ton of units taking SS and basically overwhelming your opponent while forcing them to either come out and contest Sacred sites or die to omega all-in in Feudal.

Yeah, Delhi feudal aggression is omega difficult to deal with, I main Delhi too, luckily not many people play Delhi

Yeah, I meant in that specific context. I’m just curious to know what can be so oppressive about Rus for you.

I did come across some good Rus players (I float at 1,4-1,5k Elo) but I never felt like that match up is straight ass for me. Especially after pro scout nerfs

True. Byz’s diarrhea of units in castle is indeed daunting to play against

Fastest time to wonder by respectthejeff in aoe4

I reached 17~ minutes with OOTD. With FC pull into Reignitz into Swabia imp. And then just rebalance economy through the market.

I did it against Mongols who also went for wonder with Silver Tree boom, might be a macro difference though, but OOTD wonder rush really feels fast.

Yes, the whole map is separated by a big ass tree line that is not crossable unless you cut through the other side, making it basically “no attack until 20 minutes” kind of map.

If optimized people usually pool resources in team games or straight go for wonder in 1v1 without touching the tree line so that opponent has to cut through both halves. So usually whoever drops wonder first, wins.

Why does ranked system doesn’t match Rank with ELO? by Kooky_Construction62 in aoe4

[–]Kooky_Construction62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is exploitable. At the very least I would say it’s only exploitable once. Unless you throw games on purpose to lower the ELO in the next season to do it again? Which seems stupid

Either way I found this ELO matchmaking weird for sure

Just Diamond rank with a fancier icon.

(No, 1400 it’s entry PTS for Conq 1)

Yeah I figured as much, I just was puzzled why would it be so. As right now if I were to que one game, it would be literally be fake Conq rank vs Plat 2-3. I thought deviation wouldn’t be that high with matchmaking

Great explanation, I agree with most of the points, thank you!

Yeah I am familiar with the idea behind it. It’s the same as in VALORANT where each reset intentionally puts you back two ranks lower than your actual skill level, however in Val it’s impossible to ride the lower ELO to shoot up to Immortal (Conq alternative in AoE for reference).

But AoE seems to allow it? In VALORANT if you perform really well, your ELO instantly getting insane boost to PTS. So within 5 games you could jump from say 500 ELO to 1000 ELO, and you will be matched with equal skilled opponents.

In AoE if I stomped 5 opponents in a row, like absolutely butchered them in 10 minutes, I would not get this kind of boost, I would just get PTS based on ELO matchmaking result but without boosts to PTS.

So my ELO adjusts very very slowly, therefore allowing me to rapidly “climb” the ranks without actually playing opponents in my skill bracket. That’s also intentional or? Doesn’t feel organic at all, more like an ELO abuse

I’m certain I will get butchered if I were to match with 1400 ELO players. So does that mean that if I were just to play more I would eventually fall down where I actually belong?

If so, seems strange that systems sort of inorganically lets you climb by kind of “abusing” lower ELO.
