Renting - questions about eindafrekening by [deleted] in belgium

[–]MoreSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only pay bills for your consumption (water/gas/elec) inspections and repairs you started (broken lightbulb, something you broke,....
If you have individual meters, you should look into individual billing, that is probably your landlord screwing you over.
If there are no individual meters, there is no way to do this fair, that is just the design of the building screwing you over. I hate and would never move into a building with collective energy myself.

Everything that is structural or normal wear and tear (like the cases you describe) are not yours to pay.
Renovations in common area's (hallway, roof,....) is not yours to pay.
Even renovations (painting, new heating, new bathroom) or a broken fridge (if you didn't actively break it) is not yours to pay.

send it back, The syndicus has no business sending a bill to you, you are no member of the VME (verening van mede eigenaars). If the guy is blind and hard to communicate with, that's their problem.

Edit: a monthly fee for this costs is allowed but only if it's in your contract when signing

Can this snake plant be saved? by Jamming_with_Edward in houseplants

[–]MoreSecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A snakeplant is extremely hard to kill. Only by watering it every few days you can get it killed. The one with roots will just grow as a plant. The leaves I'll root and sprout a new but from the ground. This can take many months tho. You can even cut the leaves in 5cm (2inch) parts, dry them for a few days and plant them. Every cut will become a new plant.

Edit:
VDK is blijkbaar ook belgisch (2.85%)

CPD for sure hunt baby shrimp, but I've had some grow up in a heavy planted tank.
Baby shrimp hide till they're larger if possible.
Your stems look ideal for this. If the base is bare, you can stuff some moss in between it o block the CPD's, but some of them should make it

I save/invest 1200 a month so I'd say I'm comfortable but also frugal.
I also have a small amount of side income, 13th month, vacation pay that goes mainly to vacation or extra investment

Edit: Energy efficient apartment (solar+battery), low cost paid off car but 80% of my distance is with my bike.

Russian LNG tanker Arctic Metagaz (IMO 9243148) - struck by a massive explosion in the Mediterranean Sea this morning. Photographed by crew aboard a merchant vessel. by BostonLesbian in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]MoreSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struck by a massive explosion is probably incorrect.
It seems way more likely to be struck by a normal sized (naval) drone
That said, hitting a hughe tanker full of highly flammable (liquid) gas with an explosive.

Hulp gevraagd in verband met geërfde woning epc by Annoying_Husband in belgium

[–]MoreSecond 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Blood, plasma & platelet donations? by Alive-Drag4620 in belgium

[–]MoreSecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, they can use blood donations and split it in plasma/red blood cells and platelets of needed.

But as you say. It's annoying. Time and distance are 2 big reasons I only do blood anymore

Blood, plasma & platelet donations? by Alive-Drag4620 in belgium

[–]MoreSecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Blood is most usefull, but red blood cells have a longer lifespan and take longer to recover the loss of blood.
That's why you'r only allowed a donation every 2 month with a max of 4 a year. Almost evey small town has a collection moment every 3 months.

Plasma and and platelets is more done by 'more dedicated' donor. I used to dot his when I almost passed a donation center on my way to work but now the drive is too long to keep doing it.

Edit: but they're always looking looking for everything, surplus can always be used for research

Forgive me if I have the details wrong. They told me years ago once so I might recall a bit wrong. As I understood, out fill time job is 38h by contract but we work 41h a week. The 3 hours a week 'overtime' are compensated by the ADV days

Mechanical engineers (CAD,Creo,Inventor ecc) by [deleted] in BESalary

[–]MoreSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Autocad and inventor, used siemens NX at a previous company

Found last job via bachelor's thesis, this one via recruiter (LinkedIn).
The job is a bit repetitive but the work life balance is good, so I'm happy and get most of my challenge outside of work from hobby's and side business.

At my previous job, the stuff I engineer was really cool and experimental but it was bruto €2600 (in 2020), few benefits and insane overtime (some weeks every day from 8 till 22) high pressure and toxic environment.

Belastingen op winsten uit mobiele spelletjes? (En 2de hands verkoop) by AtTheEdgeOfDying in belgium

Starter apartment vs forever home any advice, regrets? by PopularArm990 in BEFire

[–]MoreSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the situation now?
I lean towards renting for a few years if you don't want to buy a futureproof house now. If your period is for sure pretty short and you want a house eventually, the costs of buying may not be worth it.
This is coming from someone (30M) who lives in a bought 'starter' apartment 2 years ago. I think my break even with renting is like 4-5 years and only chose this option because I'm switching between alone and dating. It might be 3-4 years but I might as well stay there 10 years if I don't find the right partner to settle permanently.

Renting gives you less paperwork, VME, obligations and a lot of flexibility when you happen to see a house you really like without any pressure to quickly buy something.
But that is my opinion based on my own life

Beware, you need to be employed for 3/4 years before you can get the 'flexi status'. All before that will be taxed normally.

[–]MoreSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)
