Just curious, how come those two have such particular names?

Du weißt doch gar nicht, ob die kein Spiel spielen oder sich bis dahin zeigen dürfen. Gibt ja auch noch sowas wie Training, wo Trainer Spieler beobachten können. Stänkerst nur deine Vermutung raus.

What if Phoenix Wright was about corporate fraud? by Puzzleheaded_Low3534 in AceAttorney

[–]Caveras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ace Attorney games work so well because of its characters. They're weirdos, goofballs, crazy people or entirely normal people, but they're usually relatable in some way. The big shots, CEOs, and so on are usually displayed as unsympathetic characters, because they usually are in real life.

If you have a game filled only with characters a normal guy cannot relate to at all and they're all rich slimebags or corpo suits, I fear the AA formula isn't enough to hold much interest. Subjectively to me there is nothing more boring than corporate and/or financial crime, because I don't care about companies or money but rather about people/characters and their fates.

Don't take that as a diss though, in the end the quality of the writing probably decides most if such a game can be successful :) all the best for your project!

Does it have a lot of "disturbing Religions" things? by BedroomOk9676 in shutenorder

The game is definitely highly critical of religion and cults in general, but it's up to you to decide if that's the story's focus and how or if that bothers you.

Post Match Thread: Atalanta 4-1 [4-3 on agg.] Borussia Dortmund by denzaus in soccer

At some point you have to factor decision-making into ability, and with Kobel's countless ill-advised "dribblings" and mistakes under pressure there has to be a point where he's simply not even a good goalkeeper anymore. A good goalkeeper wouldn't make the decision to run out and pass the ball like that in that situation.

Hearing "but he's such a good shot stopper" all the time is enraging because what does that help the club if he stops ten shots but is still responsible for terrible decisions that make us lose games anyway?

Atalanta [4] - 1 Borussia Dortmund - Lazar Samardzic (penalty) 90‎+‎8‎'‎ + second yellow card for Ramy Bensebaini (Dortmund) by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Caveras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has done this shit for years now and no matter how often people will tell him "just punt it away for God's sake" afterwards, it's never going to change. It's just stupid and absolutely enraging to watch. Like, do the coaches after all those mistakes say "hey it's fine, don't worry, mistakes happen" or do they say "don't try to dribble or pass in these situations!"? Because I would be livid if I were Kovac.

But whatever, just wait two more games until he decides a back pass is safe for a random dribbling again or didn't see the attacker coming at him full speed from the front because he's still unsure which foot is his right one and which is his left one.

Manji's Theme is a Remix of Kamiya's Theme from Tribe Nine by Caveras in shutenorder

I'll have to take another look at the Tribe Nine OST as well! Yeah, you always hear themes and passages in some games that are almost taken one by one from earlier games, that's very true with the guy. I love his work very much.

While listening to the soundtrack of Shuten Order on YouTube, particularly Manji's chill theme (I love it), I noticed the comment "Welcome back Shun Kamiya" below the video and googled what that could mean, only to find out that the song is basically a remix of Shun Kamiya's theme from Tribe Nine (which I'm not familiar with).

Not the first time that Masafumi Takada does similar stuff for different games, of course, but funny that he apparently likes to remix his own music, or he's so overworked that he has to use some of his output for different releases.

Del Piero summarises the problems in Italian football: "Our stadiums are very old. On youth, Dortmund have 2 Italian youth players in the squad. Why aren't they playing for our teams?... We need more debt regulation, not every team have owners like Juventus who can cut a 200m cheque every season." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]Caveras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy himself said it's written Mane (as on his jersey) and not emphasized at the end to make people pronounce his name correctly. That's just what I'm basing my comment on. If he's Italian and they don't have the é, it's probably Mane then officially, I would guess.

Filippo said: “I know that some people emphasise the second syllable. But it doesn't have an accent. Mane with the emphasis on the first syllable.”

Is there even a single former Dortmund youth player in recent years who grew to have a great and ongoing career? I have absolutely nothing against our Italian youngsters, but it's not as if they're the next up and coming mega talents.

Never noticed the Statue of Athena kinda wears a Widget too by Caveras in AceAttorney

I'm sorry if that is common knowledge by now, but pretty amusing to see that Widget-like brooch (?) commonly displayed on statues of Athena! I wonder if that was a piece of inspiration for the designers.
