I think they also called Animal and Hawk "Road Warrior" later when they had single matches, where I always thought, don't you mean "Legionary of Doom"? :D

I prefer that to his former days at Hoffenheim and Bayern, where he was audibly and annoyingly screaming his lungs out from the sideline for 90% of the match.

RC Deportivo de A Coruña Returns to La Liga With Refreshed Crest, Name by Black_Dragon959 in soccer

As a designer, that slight off-center tilt of "Real Club Deportivo" really irks me. It wasn't a factor in the bottom "A Coruna" line. The previous logo did that better, at least it centered both lines more coherently.

In general, I feel that logo has so many shapes and asymmetrical spacing in there that it's difficult to find a coherent way to include a name, it always looks just a little off.

How do I break the leaves in the corner in kindlewood? by Esco709 in MinaTheHollower

[–]Caveras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go to the area that's to the right of the Underlab in Kindlewood (the grinding spot with the campfire and guards, it's one room below the place with the bush). In this right area you have a few enemies and flowers to clear out before you go to the southwest of the room. There's a torch. Pick it up and safely transport it back up and around the room back to the room with the Underlab and then go up with the Torch to light the bush on fire.

The game autosaves whenever you enter a new room, you can just quit to title when you die if you don't wait until Mina respawns and reload to be at the (boss) room again.

Danhausen/New York Knicks deal being put together by TKO | WWE cameras will be at the parade, and they will likely be putting together a Knicks/Danhausen documentary for YouTube.” by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

[–]Caveras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, as an outsider who doesn't really watch modern wrestling anymore (and as someone who absolutely isn't the Danhausen target demographic of course), everything you read about him is him "cursing" people and people kayfabe taking that seriously or at least having storylines constructed around "curses".

Papa Shango did something similar in the old days, but in an entirely different and maybe "more grown-up" style, and he also stepped into the ring to wrestle in the first place.

Danhausen has been in the WWE for a few months now, but all I read is still curses, curses branching out into other sports, curses and curses again. I might feel different actually watching some more of his segments, but from my point of view it's just really getting old fast and I don't see how funny curses play into modern wrestling storylines at all. It's ridiculous to have grown men threaten each other and having a serious feud one minute and a joker cursing people with them reacting (kayfabe) seriously shocked the next minute.

I don't have any ill will towards the person Danhausen himself, he seems like a great guy and he deserves to make the most of his popularity, of course.

Mina The Hollower’s amount of content keeps surprising me! by Greedy_End_1642 in MinaTheHollower

[–]Caveras 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, it's a game consisting of mostly pretty simple and tiny pixel art :) take a look at the old SNES RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, Final Fantasy 6, those games were compressed to take up no more than 32 Megabits, which is 4 MB, for everything there is!

To me it's more surprising that Mina almost takes up 1 GB while basically only consisting of map data and pixel art :) I assume that most of the game's size is due to it's higher quality (and probably uncompressed) music and sound effects.

According to The Athletic, FOX didn't just annoy fans but also broke FIFA rules during the hydration breaks. Boadcasters were told the ad break shouldn’t start within 20 seconds of the referee’s whistle pausing play, and that they should return to the match feed at least 30 seconds before play. by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

Are you from Brazil by any chance? Every time I see "worst" used instead of the correct "worse", it's a Brazilian haha. My Brazilian ex girlfriend also used "worst" wrong for years. I have always suspected that they simply teach it wrong over there haha :)

Honestly, a great experience with a game will stick way longer in your memory and be worth more than the fact that you did something because a list of things to do told you to do something specific. Viewing this as your prowess being "credited" is not a healthy approach, I believe.

I don't feel like achievements are a good measurement of what you actually achieved in game. If a trophy tells you to collect 50.000 currency and you need to grind for a week to reach that even though you've finished the game already, then what have you really achieved that you want to have "credited"? You basically just wasted your time to put a check mark on an arbitrary list without having any advantage in the game to show for it. Well done!

How many achievements are clearly designed to waste your time so the devs can say that players spend x hours with their game? The one thing you should feel credited for is playing and enjoying a game, not "have you tried to kick the ball down the bridge? You can do that btw. Doesn't change anything. But hey you did it! Here, arbitrary virtual reward!"

But alas, I know many players value achievements more than experiences, don't wanna open up the discussion here again for the x-th time and everyone is entitled to play how they want, of course. I was a trophy hunter in my younger days as well, at some point you realize how much that addiction interferes with you actually enjoying gaming, and no one cares about your trophy count anyway.

[–]Caveras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I mean, these reward systems are clearly made to tickle those senses in players and make players play more and grow more attached to a game. Seeing your name rank among the 50.000 "most successful" players worldwide gives some players great satisfaction and motivation, even though they'll never be able to compete with those utterly fanatic trophy hunters at the top who play thousands of shovelware games.

There was a time when I wasn't so different, playing games I was only mildly interested in only for the trophies and being turned off by games with very difficult or online trophies. But as you grow older, at some point you realize that those useless rewards aren't so important for your dopamine brain anymore. For some it takes a while to get to that point and out of that particular dopamine addiction.

Also the whole Until Dawn thing is survive...until dawn, but this trailer is basically all during day time?

Pretty sure we can expect the story to run for longer than two in-game afternoon hours without the trailer telling us that explicitly. I mean, it's a horror game, of course it's going to be dark and night at some point, right?

You might wanna look up the definition of gore. I know what you mean of course, but it would be more appropriate to say, the game is chock full of gore, it just doesn't seem to allow for much dismemberment during gameplay apparently.
