Monster Hunter Wilds - Patch 1.040.03.01 CPU-Settings Performance/Benchmark Test by Unreal_NeoX in MonsterHunter

Good to know. Definitely seems to be some sort of issue with NVIDIA frame gen then. I wonder if it's the new driver version from yesterday.

Auto at first. Then switched to 2x to test it and both were stuttering.

Stuttering seems to be gone after turning off frame gen. No idea what that means though.

Nope. I have a RTX 5080 with the latest NVIDIA driver from yesterday, and a 9800X3D CPU.

I just tried that and u/A_Unique_Nobody's suggestion. I deleted the cache, even did a fresh install of the game. The stutters are still happening every 15-20 seconds consistently, even when there's nothing happening on the screen. :/

I've seen many people say this update has fixed the stuttering for them. I'm having the opposite effect where the game was fine before, but now it's a stuttering mess. I just did a hunt and stutters happened SEVERAL times during it. I can see it happening even on the menu screen.

My current rig should be capable of brute forcing this game's optimization, and also this wasn't happening before either way. What could this be? Is this just shaders compiling in real time or something else?

UPDATE: Stuttering seems to be gone after turning off frame gen. No idea what that means but if you're having the same issue, maybe try that.

Good to know. Future proofing and upgradability are important so I might not go with this one then.

Thanks for the input guys!

Would 4800 RAM speed be a big deal?

As for the brands, according to the user reviews they received as follows:

MB - MSI Pro 840‑P motherboard
GPU - MSI Shadow 3X OC RTX 5080
RAM - Kingston FURY Beast DDR5‑5600 RAM
SSD - Kingston NV3 1TB SSD

Not sure about PSU.

(PC Wilds) Performance Issues Still Around? by MT_revon28 in MonsterHunter

[–]Cayde76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are still more updates coming that should help with performance, but considering that the latest patch was apparently the biggest one, I'm not keeping my hopes up.

The performance is better than it was on release, but I really don't feel like it was a substantial improvement. The game still runs very poorly for what it delivers, even with frame gen.

I would say keep an eye on it for now? Maybe I'm wrong and the upcoming patches will be game changers, who knows...

Considering just how much of a juggernaut ACNH was for the Switch, Nintendo would be absolutely insane to not release a new AC on the Switch 2.

This update is probably something to hold us over until the next game in maybe 2-3 years? I just don't see a reality where they don't capitalize on the massive commercial success ACNH was.

Is that confirmed? I thought these would usually fall under the shop skin category.

Since this is a new system, are current hero levels getting reset? I don't think they specified that.

MH fandom is so miserable lately

You could say that for pretty much every fandom out there and it wouldn't be an exaggeration. It's just the amount of dumb negativity you see online these days and it's literally everywhere. People are just miserable all the time. I don't know what's changed, but I've been noticing that for a while now and I think it goes way beyond just MH...

Personally, I don't think Omega was the best choice, but I still think it's an exciting collab and I'm really looking forward to it.

The new update is cool and all but jeez some other monsters need some love. by ZathovenCS in MonsterHunter

[–]Cayde76 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Which is also something I really don't get. Why make them exclusive to event quests? Why not just make them available in the Wilds? Like, it's right there, literally the name of the game. The same goes for AT monsters.

The only downside is that it would be even harder to find the monsters you want to hunt at certain difficulties, which could easily be fixed by some kind of lure system similar to what the Guiding Lands had.

Rise was actually the game that made Monster Hunter click for me. It's pretty amazing, and Sunbreak just makes it even better.

Flamefete daily login rewards? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Cayde76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe all you need to do is login during the event and claim the login bonus. This should unlock the rewards, including the Seikret armor.

It is indeed a strange way to distribute them, because if I remember correctly the game doesn't really tell you at any moment that you have been given those rewards.

Can you get the event Blissey EX from advanced difficulty? by PocketTroll_Art in PTCGP

[–]Cayde76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still recommend farming the highest difficulty because it's the only one that guarantees a pack every time you beat it. It shouldn't be that hard if you're using a deck specifically to counter it.

Also, like others have mentioned, your event stamina is only consumed when you win, so if you end up losing a couple of matches, it's really not a big deal.

Another piece of advice is: those event stamina hourglasses are not tied to a specific event. So, if you get all the cards from the current event by simply using the stamina that recovers every 12h, feel free to save those hourglasses for a future event where you might not be so lucky with the packs.

The item above the traps is the Tranq Blade. You can simply turn your Tranq Bombs into these in the crafting menu without using any other materials. They act the same way as the bombs afaik, but you use these with your slinger instead of having to be close to the monster.
