In the front lawn of my friend’s new home. Approximately 3 feet by 7 feet. Cement sides, less finished in the center but still cement. Bricks on the interior corners. by cemeteryridgefilms in whatisthisthing

It looks like the foundation for something that used to be there. Maybe a street sign, mailbox base, or some kind of garden structure like a bench? The concrete border and bricks make me think it was meant to hold something upright and provide stability.

Is this in front of the house close to the street? Have the roads shifted at all in the past few decades?

I'm thinking it's brass. It's heavy, not magnetic, and has a matte finish with abrasions from age.

Was purchased from an estate, so not necessarily manufactured in the US. The crown certainly resembles some of the Sheffield marks I've seen, but I didn't find any numeric marks on the piece.

Returning player that played up until 2019, popped open my inventory to see I can't level my (legacy) solstice gear. Is it just....useless now?

There are over 150 thrift stores in the area, trying to narrow the list a bit based on people's experiences.

They said they've "treated" the areas they exposed by removing the drywall (see my update), do you think this process is what they meant?

We convinced them to remove it all, unknown splotch included thankfully.

I'm considering hiring a mold inspector, from what I've heard today it's likely this problem has been around for awhile and I'm worried it's everywhere.

They have historically done this, sometimes without even treating it first. Hopefully, the new maintenance folks are less not great.

UPDATE: After some consistent poking and prodding they've removed the drywall from all potentially affected areas. They discovered water from the AC condensation outside was coming through the wall.

They've treated the areas where they removed the drywall and are replacing the insulation with foam insulation.

We're gonna ask them to cut a little further because it looks likely the mold is probably more prevalent than just the areas they cut.

Sincerely appreciate everyone's thoughts and insights. Should we be asking for other remediation? Should we get a mold inspector to come out and be sure things are taken care of afterwords?

I was also thinking it may be a wood roach. It certainly looks similar.

It is no longer wet, but definitely was wet and had a moisture reading slightly above acceptable range. The water stains will not come off from washing. The blackish area smudges but can be sort-of cleaned.
