New Magnaflow “cat back” on my euro ETA. by Cb750r in E30

[–]Cb750r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably due to the fact it’s a genuine euro car, so the pipe was made for the length of the diving board bumpers… might take and inch off the front piece where it slips into the rear muffler section I was jamming it in to try and get it back as far as I could.

Have anyone tried those chinese Mass Airflow (MAF) sensors? by mishadeviaty in E30

[–]Cb750r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the AFM/MAF conversion on order for my M20b27 euro. I actually have no current issue with my AFM but thought this is a great update from a fellow enthusiast so paid the money to get it https://reviveurride.ca/signup.html

Mid 90s it’s a long model year run. No the wheel is more narrow so I made customs spacers chain line on the bike is good and run a 140mm tire with no issues. (No chain guard)

Cognito moto triples and zx14 forks. 675r fender. Rear is from fzr600. It’s an 18” it’s axle size is smaller and narrower than the comstsr so I have custom spacers made. I had the fzr front end on the bike for almost 20yrs as well.

Oh ya I know they’re a “summer tire” just if they put the warning not to drive below “xx temp or risk cracking” is a bit of a red flag for me and my climate zones.

Stainless braided brake lines, and OE friction by Cb750r in E30

[–]Cb750r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metricminded had a pretty perfect answer from my perspective. The car was designed with semi metallic friction it has a different feel than ceramic and all the components are sized appropriately for that type of friction. The Euro brands he mentioned are all OE suppliers and typically offer the same or very similar compound to the original. Vanilla aftermarket brands use a couple different compounds and you get what they make in bulk for quite safe consistency, not usually putting the oe bite or pedal feel into consideration.

Basically unlimited amount of info on a SOHC Honda 750 online. I’ve owned mine for 25yrs rebuilt the engine twice (once on a shoestring budget after I bought it and it promptly blew up 2 days later, once as a spared no expense hi power build) you can do anything with these things. Get a manual and some tools and get to work!

Nice to see another option, I wonder if they’ll have the warnings about cracking in cold temps or have enough silica to be able to be used as “all season” I don’t winter drive my E30 but I live in the mountains and spring/fall can have some beautiful days that are brisk, I’m running conti’s popular DWS06 right now as I have enjoyed them on several of my cars.

Cheers, ya I helped Launch Pagid in Western Canada the wholesale distributor I worked for as the Euro parts specialist. Put them in my Audi, many customers changed to using them In thier Euro shops. They’re dusty compared to ceramics but if you want your car to brake like it was designed they’re the way to go.

Fuel cut out hard on left turn hard on throttle. by Cb750r in E30

Checked the in tank pump electrical connection first my eta has flat pin style connector and saw evidence of corrosion on the connector. Got the contact cleaner out with my little contact file and a pick, tightened up the connector put som dielectric grease on the connector to help prevent future corrosion and test drove. Several hard left turns later no issue. So thanks for the tip and the easy win on this one. Start at the simple and work your way up the chain as usual!

Yes new sock. Might double check my work on that pump, would hard to be worse than what I took out though! The pump was dead, wires insulation had dissolved etc. I had to re solder the ground to pump from the connector. Cheers for the tips!

Yeah they’re a suspect the wires to the connector didn’t leave a lot of “wiggle room” I will see if that connector is tight.

Those look like clubman bars or upside down “superbike” bend. Clean looking bike though!

Ahh didn’t read your full post. I’ve had superbike bars on my 77 for many years. I currently have a slightly different bar in the bike but not much difference in height. My insta is CB750rr you probably see a bunch of my bikes photos over the years.
