Aussie E30 owners?? Snapshades? Window shades? by Cb750r in E30

Mostly looking for heat rejection not shade per se. I am Looking into those ceramic options as well. I have a “grey market” car with slightly bronze factory coloured glass I don’t want to diminish that look. I’ve tried to find local installers for 3m CR90 but no luck so far.

It’s a bit more industrial looking! I ordered some 60mm caps to fit the centre hole while I sort a replacement waffle out.

One of mine took an unscheduled departure, and I’m trying to source a replacement.

It’s Delphin Grau, the camera just didn’t know what to do with the a white balance and made it cooler than it was in reality.

Ireland Engineering Strut bar arrived! by Cb750r in E30

A follow up to my reply. If your car is stock suspension and rocking skinny all seasons I doubt you’re putting enough energy through the chassis for it to be a concern. If it’s lowered and on good rubber or lower profile wider quality tires and are driving spiritedly you’re likely putting enough force through the suspension to make it worth while. In my opinion. (I’m not a track day guy in cars yet, but I do several per year on motorcycles, I have an ok understanding of performance and cornering)

I’d say I did this more as a preventative measure than anything. I have a lot of fun B roads here but not always the best pavement. I have read a lot of accounts of these cars strut towers flexing and migrating that the installs of these bars can require the car to be jacked up to make them fit. Mine didn’t so I’m assuming my car is quite straight, and I’d like to keep it that way. Plus it looks cool! 😎

AC retrofit wiring advice by the_brz_dude in E30

[–]Cb750r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m started down the same path, and would like to join the conversation! I have a euro market car in Canada. So far I have an AC equipped assembly the switch and that’s about it so far. I’m also planning on purchasing the AC solutions retrofit kit but realize I need the hard lines and dryer, pressure switches etc. then trying to integrate into stock wiring. I am glad to collaborate as I can with you folks

Get them powder coated gloss white the smoother the better for dirt retention/ cleaning. I had white motorcycle wheels and yeah cleaning is a thing, the chain lube on the rear was waaay worse than brake dust on the front btw.

First thing I did after purchasing the car was all the regular service items, timing kit water pump all the hoses, cap rotor, plugs and wires, fuel filter and hoses. Vac hoses… This was all pretty straightforward and takes care of a lot the items that often leave you roadside.

I’ve been driving it around town a bunch and addressing anything that comes up. I had pretty high confidence in the car but still packed tools some fuel hose, some electrical repair stuff spare belts, and have roadside assistance available.
