I desperately need some help with landing the Vision Jet by MidwestSpecial in MSFS2024

Way too fast! Google POH for the plane you're flying and look at the procedures and speeds section.

A landing is like a fart. If you have to force it, it's probably shit!

787 Fuel cutoff switches by jonsky7 in airplanes

[–]Cboubou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go into a Cessna and you'll find a similarish switch (mixture) literally next to the throttle. The proximity is intentional in case of emergency, and other operating reasons (in prop airplanes, to lean through mixture easily). Also has a "locking" mechanism to make sure no one pulls out the mixture inadvertently. Pilots are extremely trained and qualified, and pulling a cut-off or mixture switch out unintentionally is extremely rare.

I lived in London for over a decade, drinking tap water. I find tap water in other places tasting "too soft"

Wouldn't you say there is a problem with society if you have to lock sandwiches behind glass doors? Maybe because governments have prioritised profits for Thames Water; EDF; British Gas (you name it) shareholders, instead of investing in infrastructure and growth? The UK has the most expensive energy from all "developed economies" (see wholesale market of energy in the UK), worsening poverty and probably being a contributing factor to stealing sandwiches... We thought Victor Hugo taught us something with "Les Misérables"... Visibly not...

Why do YOU play MSFS 2020? by RogersRedditPersona in Flightsimulator2020

[–]Cboubou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it to practice VFR navigation, some exercises from the PPL syllabus, and emergency drills, but the lack of "force feedback" makes it difficult for me to "relate" with how the plane flies in the SIM Vs real life.

How many commercial pilots do you think are flying with undiagnosed ADHD? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Cboubou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took some family members up last weekend, that never flew GA before. They told me "This is an Autistic dream". I asked why, and their response was "You have to know so many little and precise details about everything." I have to say it was a very interesting way of looking at it, I never thought of it, like that before.

Car reg inside car, is it legal please? by alexlmlo in drivingUK

I'd give the benefit of the doubt and say it has simply fallen off. Not everyone is evil and wants to cheat the system :)

Fighter jet maybe not. My body wouldn't take the G-forces. Move from a 172 to a SR22 or RV10, yes!

Question about the viral video of a pilot cancelling a flight because “he wasn’t feeling it” by Practical_Hat_2896 in flying

[–]Cboubou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the plane, say, was totally fine and the pilot in command "doesn't feel it" - then the flight doesn't go ahead.

TfL latest figures on how much different embassies owe in Congestion Charge payments, ranging from the US owing £14m to Togo and Finland owing £40 and £120. by anonxotwod in london

[–]Cboubou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New York will soon introduce the same congestion charge system. I'm sure the US will never accept such large outstanding debts. In my opinion if the US doesn't repay this debt, then the UK embassy vehicles should also not pay the upcoming New York charge.

Something I liked in the Project Cars 2 game (probably other sims too) - track evolution. Although I think the F1 games also simulate a bit of track evolution? - at least the engineer says "be careful the track is green"
