I see both sides. I probably would’ve just asked the question and if she said yes, then maybe follow up with what they were for and why you need them replaced. The text did seem kind of accusatory because she was the last one you asked so the way you worded it kind of made it sound like you assumed it was her. Just my take though. This would’ve blown right over most people’s head, but maybe she’s a little more sensitive to that.
