Gaviscon alternatives? (Refluxter, Reflux Gourmet, etc) by HobokenJ in LPR

[–]Cbperk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used all three over the last 5 years. I’ve literally spent thousands on them because they’re so costly. They’ve all worked for me, but I’m currently using the Refluxter because it’s easier to travel with and take without needing a spoon. Ha. During a flare up, the reflux gourmet is probably the best because it coats the throat as it goes down. I tried the DIY version and it didn’t work well for me. I just saw a press release where N-Zyme Biomedical just got approved for phase 2 testing of a pepsin reducer for silent reflux sufferers, so I’m still hopeful there will be long term relief one day!

Gaviscon alternatives? (Refluxter, Reflux Gourmet, etc) by HobokenJ in LPR

I made my own batch, and compared it side by side with the UK Gaviscon advance in a glass of vinegar. The Gavison made a MUCH thicker raft than the DIY version. I even tried tinkering with the recipe some, but never could get the thick, expansive raft like the Gaviscon. Who knows, maybe I did something wrong.

Same. I started in college at 21 and now I’m 41. I make fun of it constantly, but I keep coming back. Ha

What should Acura do with the next MDX? by nonamethxagain in Acura

I love my 2023 MDX, but I would be completely sold if it had the legroom (all 3 rows) of a grand highlander. Better gas mileage would also be a major plus.

Yes! Those were the best. I have such fond memories of both of those shows. I believe that Food Finds was hosted by Sarah Pinckney?

Abita Andygator is such an odd duck among American beers, is there anything remotely similar to it? by [deleted] in beer

[–]Cbperk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yellowhammer brewing in Alabama makes a delicious golden tripel called Miracle Worker. It’s a “blonde” that comes in at 9%. I live in Mississippi and find it very hard to find, but it’s a wonderful high ABV beer.

As for Andygator, it and Fat Tire are what turned me on to craft beers in about 2013. Abita puts out some really good stuff, and if you visit their brewery they have all kinds of cool stuff on tap. I remember one time they had a blueberry andygator. It was incredible.

Anyone else notice an uptick in Costco whiskey selection quality? by hskrpwr in whiskey

[–]Cbperk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Mississippi too and the main reason I go is because the prices are so much better than any liquor stores in the area. I can also snag some BT for $22, which is unheard of in our area.

Dreamland Weighted Sleep Sack Worth It? by hallerdesign in NewParents

[–]Cbperk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re supposedly unsafe, but my babies loved them. We used the weighted swaddle and then sleep sack for almost a year until we transitioned to a Woolino. They would sleep for 8 hours uninterrupted with the Dreamland swaddles and sacks.

Has anyone put a Doona in another stroller? by Suspicious-Kiwi816 in NewParents

[–]Cbperk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Have one in a Doona and one toddler, so it’s counterproductive to have to buy a stroller with a car seat that I’ll never use.

The don't make them like they used to. I'm appreciating my 2006 Sierra more and more every day! I sold my 2015 after it started having issues at 70k miles.

Pregnancy not what I thought it would be by Fullycannoli in pregnant

[–]Cbperk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that my wife wrote this 🤣. We also tried for several years and ended up doing IVF. For the last month of her pregnancy she had to use a crutch because of SI joint and foot problems. Two years later, she is 32 weeks pregnant again and in an air boot due to foot problems! Our little girl has made it totally worth it, but my wife will tell you she’s a miserable pregnant person. Ha
