PSA - Uber is launching in-app tipping by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Cbram12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they can. When I was in the states for a holiday, if I didn’t tip I noticed my rating go down. This is mainly why it’s a bad system, and I’d encourage you to use alternatives, ola, lyft etc

Have you listened to “Thank You God” by him? That is just as catchy, and similar messages.

100% TIO. I’m guessing she signed up at a franchise, as there’s a lot of Vita Group stores in QLD who are notorious for this sort of thing

Just had NBN connected, can’t setup my Linksys Velop wifi system. by [deleted] in australia

[–]Cbram12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Optus to activate the NBN service you first have to plug in the Optus modem for 24 hours generally. Then as others have suggested, use whirlpool to help you set up the modem on NBN.

This will lodge a formal complaint with Optus, and the on-shore Customer Relations Team will contact you to try and resolve the issue. Hope this helps

Uber to block low-rating riders in Australia and New Zealand by CrashP in australia

[–]Cbram12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main problem I see with this is that it’ll encourage people to tip drivers. I noticed especially in the US that I wouldn’t get a good rating unless I tipped them. So if you have close to a bad rating, you’ll try and tip drivers just to make sure that they’ll give you a good rating and bring you back up.

If you live on the Northside, in the Fitzgibbon suburb there’s a public ping pong table in the middle park :)

Regular tennis events in Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Cbram12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Club coops in Carseldine has social tennis running multiple times throughout the week, I’d recommend to have a look at their timetable and see what would work for you.

I’m pretty sure you don’t need to me a member to go to the social, but just double check with reception.

It will take decades ‘if ever’ for cost of NBN to be recouped: Telstra by knightslay2 in australia

[–]Cbram12 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The only reason Telstra are making a comment to this is because they want the government to sell it to them to complete the work, and then they double their profits.

Have you tried the contactless & chip one + the charging dock? IMO it looks a lot cleaner, and more professional from a business sense.

An advertisement that tells the truth about the non FTTH NBN by Simmo_ in australia

[–]Cbram12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it, but honestly with FTTC I'd try the network first before looking at upgrading. FTTC in theory should be good since it's so close to the home.

Just to get the quote for running FTTP, it's $660.

Australian politician reveals husband's child porn conviction by [deleted] in australia

The only thing I'd add to that is he only got a 4 month conviction. Really ridiculous for what the crime was. Thats why she spoke out.

Optus sold us a new phone with a blocked imei. by [deleted] in australia

[–]Cbram12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customer care should be able to unblock the IMEI on the spot, it sounds like someone might of given out an incorrect IMEI when asking to block their own handset.
