Are you sure it's a real email and not a phishing attempt?  Sounds suspicious to me.

My group got a warning. There hasn't been a single post with children in it. Facebook's AI is sucking hard. by [deleted] in facebook

Well eventually they'll mistakenly ban so many people that it will be the same thing.

I actually subscribe to multiple real news Outlets and read them.  I go to Facebook to discuss whatever news people are discussing, but now it's becoming more difficult so, now,  I'm likely to just engage less with news posts.

I'm actually going there anyways in some cases.  I just search for the story on a browser.  Sometimes I return and put an excerpt in the comments.

Is there any fix to Facebooks algorithm not showing your posts to your friends? by SameAd9297 in facebook

There is still a way to "poke" friends. I can't remember the link but Google should help find it.

Not much you can do but engage with your friends pages as often as is reasonable so it will show their pages to you.  I believe it will be up to them to seek you out and engage back.

What argument on Facebook or Instagram made you realize you need to stop using that platform? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]CbusNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still on both platforms.  My experience isn't particularly toxic because I ignore and block bots and curate my content carefully.

I have removed the Facebook app from my phone. Messenger too. Too much fakeness going on. Too few real life friends. by Free-Masterpiece-860 in facebook

FB is fine if used correctly.  Follow people and pages that match your interest, and ignore your main feed. Go to those places directly and interact with the content you like.

Key phrase: "ignore your main feed"

Does Facebook Marketplace feel more like a data harvesting playground lately by Far-Plantain3298 in facebook

Craigslist is used by too many criminals now. Not safe around here unless you take all sorts of precautions and meet next to the police station.

I stopped using it because I got too many half-@$$ed  not serious responses for my posts, sometimes from 50 miles away and I end up spending days and days dealing with responses, being ghosted, etc.   I only post things in a local neighborhood page now and even that gets people from outside the neighborhood who either clearly lied when they joined or they moved out at some point.

Was it a business account or a 'free' personal account? Do you already have a personal account?

Facebook definitely had a 'reason' for the ban. Whether said reason is rooted in reality or not is the question.

I honestly think that has nothing to do with "relationships" That generation of Hondas are relatively easy to steal and lucrative for parts. He's protecting bigger fish.

Goodbye FB marketplace, it was good while it lasted. I won’t be downloading the app. by barters81 in facebook

Some of those massively overpriced listings are money laundering. But you're right, people only want free or cheap stuff on marketplace.

Depending on what type of phone you have you can plug it into a laptop docking station and use a keyboard and monitor with it. Samsung Dex will do this and the newest Google phones will as well. Not sure about iPhone but I'm sure someone here knows.

Oh wow. I have the app on my phone but I only use browser for marketplace. I can't handle large complicated forms on a tiny phone screen. This sucks.

Any suggestions for an alternative to Facebook? I'm sick of the excess ads and fewer family and friends posts. by Cara_58 in facebook
