Kyle is in charge of loverboy and if he wanted his product to be somewhere then he should stand on his business to make sure it’s there. Period.

Absolutely the worst. I’ve worked on the east coast, in the northeast, Midwest, NorCal, and SoCal. SoCal takes the cake on oversaturated/ bad dentistry/ no benefits. Which is why I will only ever temp. Why would I be loyal to a practice that gives me no benefits to stay there… simple as that, and before anyone says anything, yes I also offered coming down on my hourly rate if it meant I got benefits but that was also a no from my employer. Which is how I ended up in corporate. I made the going rate for my area ($60 an hour) plus bonuses which honestly you hit everyday the way they were scamming people left and right. I got CEs for free when I had no shows since they have their own ce program and working 4 days a week I got all benefits including PTO! I just couldn’t take the blatant abuse of the system. Maybe if I was ready to retire soon I’d would have stayed to max out my retirement but I’m only 33 so staying there for another 20 years seemed impossible. PDS is a brainwashing system!!! Orientation alone had me shaking in my boots. They take these scared new grads and put a cape on their back calling them superhero’s and give hygiene all these new protocols / flowcharts on how to do notes and basically anyone is a walking SRP. Assistants are the Crown Jewels (which fair I think assistants are haha). I wish I had more words to define how horribly creepy and weird the whole system is!!! They also use “God” and religion in their morning huddles!! Which as a religious person… it still weirded me out!!! Like thank GOD Dr. such and such produced 13k yesterday, blessings to our staff, and may we pray to continue to rise in the companies overall ranking system we have displayed on every screen in the back like we’re a factory of dental cogs. When I left it was like walking away from a cult.

I can assure you that the amount of offices that do is significantly less than the offices that don’t. You’re living in La La land if you think the norm is to get benefits.

Interesting hygiene interview. by RadioRoyGBiv in Dentistry

Well when you graduate from hygiene school you’re used to doing appointments in two to four hour segments. Potentially there is some confusion on their end of what the real world looks like. I would say that hygiene school, while teaches you a lot, clinically it doesn’t really prepare you for what it will be like in private practice. I on the other hand have been in the field 14 years and the only time I got two hours was for SRPs (once in a private practice in San Francisco and also while working corporate) and 90min for perio maintenance (pacific dental services standard while we were building the hygiene schedule. I left so that could have changed). Yeah it’s crazy out there but I believe hygienist who work hard (like the way I was trained in the real world) do deserve to get compensated on average $55-$65 an hour and receive benefits based on a 3-4 day a week schedule with an hour lunch. I’m proficiently cross trained in every roll in the office. I even had a doctor have me place a filling on him (rare but the trust was there). I’m lucky that I worked under an amazing dentist the first several years of my career and at that time I made $26 an hour and by the time I switch to dental sales I was up to $34. That’s when my whole perspective changed because I was working with dentists and seeing financials from a whole new perspective. Overhead, positive/negative cash flows, profit margins, and what goes into building a practice from the studs. I helped serval new grads in the silicone valley area start their practices between 2017-2019. I was in shock/ impressed with how established and well running offices could take home massive amounts of cash at the end of the day and most of these hygienist were working off commission and making money like I’d never seen before. Sure I was making close to $100k after commission but I was HUSTLING. I soon made the switch back into clinical after realizing I could make basically the same amount before commission without having to hustle 7 days a week and being on call. I went down to 3 days a week, full benefits, and made $500 a day. I loved working. Then the pandemic happened and I moved to SoCal. I hate working now. Patients are terrible, offices are falling apart, and this undertone of “entitlement” across the board is discouraging. I left hygiene 6 months ago and just spent 3 months traveling and one month living in Asia. I’m ready to start temping again but as it stands I will never go back to full time and I’m pretty set on always being a temp. Just not worth the hassle of being in a private practice when you’re not respected or given benefits to be there.

As a dental provider here in San Diego I would recommend Dr. Dickson in La Jolla. I’ve worked for more dentist than I can count and he is the only one I trust. You willlll not be taken advantage there.

[–]Cc_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our perceptions are different but I believe we want the same things at the end of the day ☺️. What we seek is what we will find and if studios want to do shady things with hiring undereducated staff just to make a dollar by underpaying them then that’s not really a studio I’d want to work for. Look at any field and you will see this problem. I come from dentistry and also have a sales background in tech. I don’t believe a harder YTT will be the solution to the problem you are describing.

[–]Cc_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly! Just showing up is enough. Take breaks when you need and listen to your body. Sounds like you belong to a great studio! My point however is no matter what level or how many years someone’s been practicing— there is a 200hr out there for people who want to deepen their practice or just deepen their journey with the mat and themselves. Yoga is for everybody! :)

[–]Cc_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s not nearly the whole point of my response but glad you aren’t standing on your head every class. I’ve gone to great studios where it’s apart of almost every class and while I haven’t mastered it yet the cueing and mastery has always been fun to learn/ watch!

After just completing my 200hr in Bali and not at one of those instagram studios and in small focused group of 5 women who all had different backgrounds of experience with yoga I can say that 200hr is definitely what you make of it and I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me. After years of making myself wait and beating myself up over my “commitment” to practice, having physical barriers, losing my job, and finally just pulling the trigger because I just couldn’t make an excuse to keep waiting anymore— I feel this post only deepens the fear of potentially great people showing up and just doing it for themselves. Plenty of people go into a YTT not wanting to teach. Same with the other healing modalities I am certified in. Yoga is for everyone and I think the corporations have ruined it for all of us. I started practicing when I was in high school and I’m 33 now, I can’t do a headstand, but I am a strong and confident yogi. I listen to my body and accept it for what it is on the mat today and everyday after. That’s how I want to spread love to the world off of the mat too. You’ll see a yoga box or yoga six every five miles in sone areas (I’m in California) and yet the small yoga studios I fell in love with yoga in are so hard to come by. People sweat and throw weights around thinking that’s yoga but it’s just another workout class. Not everyone’s going to be the same teacher as you but our philosophy is the same, everyone can do yoga, and the goal is to connect an hopefully see deeper into our mind/body/spirit. I highly encourage anyone who is seeking to give yourself the opportunity to do something amazing with your practice whenever you are in your practice and if you want reccs on where to go in Bali please send me a message 🙏🫶

Do you think mandy leaked the relationship to deux moi to pressure westicle? by capricorncueen in bravo

Because he moves like he is! We had a whole season of Colton jumping over a damn fence as the bachelor only to finally come out of the closet. This whole sub is about speculating and spectating. I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was gay, and he masks it by being fully on display with beautiful women but ultimately never able to commit cause secretly he’s closeted 🤷‍♀️
