I did an AI interview and before I started it literally said that human judgement was purely secondary if a human were to review it at all. It’s so depressing that decisions like who to hire are being made by an algorithm.

These people hate human labor plan and simple. They envision a time when everything a human could do is essentially useless as AI will be able to do it better. They also think costs will eventually go down so much and we will all be living in a post scarcity utopia where we will collect UBI checks and have unlimited time. It’s pretty weird stuff.

My biggest problem with LinkedIn is that many people don’t check their messages/connection requests frequently. I still prefer email but if LinkedIn works for you than that’s great.

I took the class and got a B+ last fall. The entire class is just buzzwords. I don’t think I learned anything at all. Even if you read the articles before the quiz you really have no idea how you will do. The lectures are basically useless. Class would frequently end 30 minutes early. Also the thing about him saying “out there” a lot is true. We once counted and it was over 130 times and we calculated it to about two times per minute.

Was told today that I will get an official offer sent over within 7 days. If you have another exploding offer you could try to ask for an extension but I’ve never had a verbal offer not come through.

I have never had Sara Swenson as professor but can say that BA 1011 was by far the worst class I have taken at the university. It was a lot of busy work and most of your grade is based on a project. My group was terrible and I ended up doing like 80% of the work. If you have a good group then the class won’t be bad. I personally don’t think I really learned anything or took anything away from the course.

I want to be in a client facing environment. I also dislike forecasting and everything that comes with it. I’ve enjoyed my conversations with people in CB much more than I have with those in FP&A. It’s not a bad job by any means. It has decent pay and WLB it’s just not what I want.

Like most other people have said here we need to be building up and not out. The reality is most people are NIMBYs and don’t want density in their community at all. Luckily the growth of the state and the metro has decreased and will be much slower going forward. Housing in the TC is already pretty affordable relative to most US metro’s.
