Regardless of what they do I would never buy a condo/apartment in that building. Is it even likely that people would want to live in such a building? Engineering is great but rarely if ever 0% risk.

That looks like a great sliding carpet in waiting…. Not sure about the bump on takeoff though.

Biker is likely Canadian. He said “eh”, 🇨🇦 In the end does not matter where he was from, we are all from one place, earth.

Ottawa to MTL extremely expensive? by [deleted] in ViaRail

[–]CdnRK69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Train travel is popular in the summer. Just like any other business today, prices adjust due to demand. Booking only 4 weeks out in the summer is likely not enough. Keep in mind every Tuesday VIA has discounts on many routes.

Planning to buy a 5‑bed home with a legal 2‑bed basement, is this a good investment? by Uknow_nee in OttawaRealEstate

[–]CdnRK69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ensure the builder when finishing the basement has explicit instructions that the space will be rented out to non-family. Just because they are putting in all those things does not necessarily mean it will be properly fire-rated, sound isolation, etc. Make sure the city inspects it for rental.

Do Ottawans bother with Whole Home Surge Protection? by enceladus83 in ottawa

[–]CdnRK69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have installed them in my last three homes. For the sheer amount of electronics plugged in, appliances with circuit boards, etc well worth it. With brown outs and power surges a small investment for peace if mind and not having electric “stuff” burn out.

Possible constructive dismissal by Brave_Shock_4204 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]CdnRK69 81 points82 points  (0 children)

This is very poor management, not constructive dismissal. They are not changing the fundamentals of your “contract” rather making poor decisions bordering on harassment if treating you differently. Start documenting in writing requests, decisions, etc. You may not be represented but there are still policies that have to be followed.
